Cowl Hood Question

I was thinking about buying a cowl hood for my 91 GT and was wondering if the extended cowl hoods are street legal?

Thanks in advance

I mean I doubt it is. But u may wanna check your states laws. I doubt it. I could see it being illegal because it can hinder visibility tho

It will vary state to state. Check your local laws. I would not run a gigantic cowl like that unless I absolutely needed it if I was going to be driving it on the roads alot.

Yeah no need for a big one like that. I got a 6" because I want to swap a 5.4 out of a lightning (into my 2000), but an extended one will not allow you to use your wipers. You'd have to cut it back, and then there is a gaping hole for mother nature to get into. Stick with a bolt on hood and IMO, a max of 3" is enough.

I agree, no reason to go that big unless you need that room unless its a track car only.
