Illuminated Door Sills Install

I ordered some door sills from Roush off of eBay. Now, I haven't took my car apart but from the guides I've seen the wires that come with the sills go up above the door or into the kick guard (That's probably not what it's called). This wire is quite short so what exactly am I supposed to do with it? I dont have any electrical experience, but I do know that I will have to splice the wires together since I dont have the ambient light package. Some guidance would be appreciated!

Funny. I almost purchased these from Roush on ebay last night too! Couple other vendors for $10 less, but I trust Roush! Drawback was no install info. Subscribed to see what to do...if not too involved, I will order a set.

It could be a possibility that your mustang already has the plug for the illuminated door sill under your stock door sills. The reason I suspect this is because my mustang is a base model and didn't come with any extra lights or gadgets. But when I removed my center console to install my MGW shifter, I found a plug under there and after checking it for voltage I found it gets voltage but plugs up to nothing. I assumed that's the plug for the illuminated cup holder rings.

That would be interesting and very convenient if it did!
Any 13/14 owners with a plug underneath their door sill?

After some intense googling I think that 11+ mustangs have the plug which is nice. So assuming that it does how would I change the color to what I want, which is blue. Would I have to cut the end off and then cut off the other colors? (I think that each wire is a color and then the lone wire is the ground right?)

Another update: This has been an all afternoon thing. I have all of the wiring done (easy) but now trying to get the door sills in the slots... It is hell. So much worse than getting them off. And to make it better some of the clips came off with the old door sill so I'm about to go get some 3M tape to help hold it down.
Lesson learned: buy a car with the options you want already installed haha

It turns out I wired into a wire that always had power. I followed the instructions that CDC provides with American muscle for that part.
The only reason I know they are always on is because the passenger side sill isn't attached and I ran out of time. Since I didn't have time to mess with it I just cut the power to it and I'll have to mess with later.
I also need to call Ford to ask about replacement clips because I need them.
For some reason this is turning out to be more trouble than the grille replacement was which is really weird lol
