Plasti dip roof or AM Vinyl roof

I ordered a AM matte black roof (one big sheet) and tried putting it on for over 6 hours me and my friend well no luck I could never get the vinyl to conform to the roof so my question is guys do you think I can get the same look/quality by Plasti DIp on the roof? The hood stripes are AM vinyl and wheels are PlastiDipClick image for larger version

ID:	144061we did this good in my garage. Took 3 hours. Between taping and about 8-10 coats. Do really light coats and let dry 10-15 mins between each coat. And hold the can about 12 inches away

Just make sure you use at least 4 costs so that when you want to remove it one day after it becomes oxidized or you get bored, it comes off cleanly.

Yes, Sir. I know this all too well. Done tests on smaller items and I know what a B it can be to take off if not enough on there. I'm going to attempt dipping my roof this weekend; wish me luck.

Were you able to dip your roof? If so, how did it go?

I wanna know how that dipped roof came out. I was thinking of doing the overlay sheet but then i have to have someone install it. Its just like tenting a car. With the sheet and labor it might be cheaper to have the roof painted? for like 3-400ish

I'm waiting until I visit family out of town and I'll do it in their driveway or yard lol. Since I park my car on the street, there's nowhere in the city that I can do it without getting complaints.

I might be doing this soon as well. I have called around to check prices to get It vinyl and it's been between 155-320. While a plasti dip job will be about 12$

Based on my experiences with dip (with getting enough coats), I think it'll take at least 3 cans to get a nice job on the roof. Looking at $21 for $7 cans. Also I might throw a coat or two of glossifier on for just a tad more sheen.

I have used the glossifier in can and spray, now if you plan on using dip alot more for other project to this car or anything else i highly recommend getting the gallons and the sprayer. much better finish smoother texture due to the spread or mist. yes it cost alot more up front but if you ever do whole cars you will need it! i have dipped my cousins miata like 5 times now lol
