Plasti dip stripes

Ok! So here's the thing. No way around it. I'm plasti dipping black stripes on my mustang. It's red. My question is, should I include the deck lid with the stripes? Or should I just leave it gloss black? Thoughts? Click image for larger version

Be very gentle yet firm. And all I used was a credit card and a flat tip screw driver. The long trim in the center the control nob trim, and the trim around the shifter pop off easy. The gauge clusters are kinda a pain. And the vents are a *****. There's clips on the back so you wanna be careful not to break them by taking your time man. And you'll probably have to order your plasti if you do red. I use dipyourcar.com.

I would leave the decklid as is. Take a look at it once you've got your stripes on and determine whether you want to or not. I personally don't like mixing gloss black and matte black accents though. Doesn't look right to me

Smart man... I agree with just stripes first.... May even be able to get a member to quickly use a comp program to add what the car would look like with the decklid done yoo

I agree. Don't matte one thing and leave the other gloss. But you can buy glossifier from dipyourcar.com so that might even it out.

Plasti dip stripes

I haven't finished the trunk and I did like 5-6 coats on the front, hood, and Roof. I used 4 and a half. Haha

Personally I wouldn't do the deck lid because on the Shelby's with the matte black stripes they don't have it. Gives it a sharper look IMO, I really like what you have so far though!

If his decklid panel was body color, then I would agree, but his should be gloss black from the factory. And gloss and matte accents don't always mix well.

Are you eliminating the white stripes on the bottom of the doors?

Yes forsure. Imma peal those off and do plasti dip stripes. Until I get around to ordering the vinyl stripes. Right now I just don't wanna pay 100+ for stripes when imma b getting a 5.0 in about 6 months.

Good. I was hoping you weren't going to have black and white. I did matte black vinyl on my car to match the factory door stripes.

All u gotta do is cover up mayb 2-3 feet away from where ur plasti dipping. Even if u do get overspray (me) u can just take a microfiber towel and wipe it off. U could also use umm... Goo gone? I think. That would work also. My friend used it. It's not that difficult! And if u don't like it, peal it! Haha
