Have you decided whether you're going to Plastidip your decklid panel?

Really easy. Go on YouTube and type in dipyourcar.com or somethin and ull c. It's super easy though. And overspray if u don't cover it up properly. Other than that no. It stays clean. Tip! Wash your car b4 u do it

After watching YouTube it seems like a car wash would rip that stuff right off the car? Any issues with automatic car washes?

I wash my car myself. I don't do automatic washes. I ain't lettin it scratch my car. Haha but with a pressure washer they provide, no problems. Then again I don't sit there and spray it at the plasti dip lol

I assume you use the spray not brush on? Either way advice on which to use would be appreciated. I am going to go decklid panel and faux gas cap.

I used it from the can. Just make sure it's decently warm. Like room temp. If it is cold put it in hot water for like 2 mins. Any everytime u let the coats dry. Best of luck!

That looks awesome!!! Where are you located. I wish you were nearby for a hand. How many cans did that take? Did you do one piece of one side at a time or all at once? I would love more information. I have already looked at a bunch of videos, etc.

I'm im ga! And I think.... Not exactly sure here... That it took like 6 cans. Not positive! Cuz it was a few months ago. I'd b glad to help though if Ur near by! I did basically my stripes in sections. Front bumper. Hood. Roof then back. Both stripes on each piece. Aye! Just take ur time. Don't rush. Do it right measure right to get them even, and give yourself 2 full days. And u will b perfectly fine! stripes r holding up perfectly though! Figured u wanna know that also!

Can one of you with experience help me out. I Plasti dipped my 2013 deck lid early Saturday. I did 4 coats. Sunday I just sprayed the car down with water on the shower setting of the hose and it appeared to create some spots where the shinny decklid shinned through. I rubber my finger over the spot and it peeled right off. I just peeled it off and trying to figure out if I did something wrong. I want the decklid gone but no real solution for that so I was going to flat black it and matte clear coat the taillights. What did I do wrong?

Im certainly no expert but I'll venture a guess. It sounds like it was just too thin of a coat. I know from helping my son do his wheels - it seems to take a number of light coats. I have yet to try anything with a taped edge though. That is what I am vervous about on my car...

You need to let it cure for 2 weeks I believe. Check out some of the videos on dipyourcar.com he explains everything. When I did my rims, faux gas cap, and fender badges over the summer I sprayed the car and let it sit for a few hours then drove around and didn't wash it until 2 weeks later. I used a pressure washer at the self service bay at my car wash and it was perfectly fine. I was washing my car just like I normally was before I sprayed the plastidip on. Granted I had a total of 6 coats on there (4 matte black and 2 gloss) but I've had no issues with it at all. My buddy did 4 or 5 coats of matte black on his rims and he hasn't had a problem either. His rims look perfect even after this horrendous east coast winter (his car is also his DD).

+1 perfect reply. I personally don't even trust a pressure washer. Even though I have used them on my stripes. I just hand wash my car. Water hose and just wet my car and then go out with a hand washer thing idk what to call it but then scrub it down. If u do go pressure washer way, don't spray directly at it. Unless u have 5+ coats.
