Basically free mod

Took a pair of wire cutters to my factory antenna. Cut about four inches up where the antenna indents a little and capped it off with a 7/32" vacuum cap(pack from O'reillys cost 2 bucks). It's been two days and I haven't noticed any loss of reception. 👌 Simple!

I know this is a kind of old thread, but how would i do my 97 antenna? Can you cut them shorter also? And how short

Looks good! I did it to mine also, it's about 12 in.. Prolly could go shorter but didn't wanna go to short and mess up some stations near me.
