New vinyl stripes (AM)

I just ordered some red 12 inch stripes for my black gt. Has anyone had any experience putting them on yourself? It says 6 hours. I can't imagine it being extremely difficult though. Any suggestions?

I've done my outside hash marks and inside dash kit in vinyl. I'm assuming you're talking about the LeMans style stripes?

Just make sure the car is CLEAN. No Wax, at least on that area. Plenty of water and a tiny bit of soap in the mixture. For a full sized spray bottle maybe 4 drops of soap. Baby shampoo works or I used dish soap.

The wetter the piece is, the more workable it will be, but the longer it will take to dry. With the big piece you want it pretty wet on the sticky side/backing so you can work the air bubbles out with the squeegee.

Make sure to wrap the squeegee in a microfiber cloth so you don't scratch/scar up the vinyl on accident.

Lining things up properly and patience will be key.

I did the stripes on mine. First time doing stripes - last time doing stripes. It was the most painstaking installation of anything I've done. Stretching it around the corners, lips, and humps and keeping it straight while going over and around all of the curves is very hard to do. Honestly, if I were to do it over, I'd have them done professionally.

I had someone helping me, an xacto knife, lots and lots of soapy water, and a blow dryer. I also used some color-matching nail polish to touch up mistakes. All-in-all it took me two full days to complete the install and another week before I had everything touched up and bubble-free.
