Removing Side Stripes

I'm wanting to use Duplicolor's Shadow kit to paint my chrome OEM 08 GT/CS wheels black chrome, however I have white Pony Package side stripes and don't think I'll like the look of those two clashing. With the car being an 08 and daily driven, how noticeable will it be if I remove the stripes? Will it be clear in the paint that a stripe used to be there?
Please all comments and suggestions are welcome and needed.

I removed the rocker stripes from my '11 and now you can't tell they were ever there. I'm not sure how much worse it would be since yours is an '08 but I'm pretty sure it would be fine.

Usually only parts that get a lot of direct sunlight like hoods, roofs and trunk lids might have that problem with older cars. The paint around it fades slightly but the paint underneath stays pretty fresh, and in that case you might see lines but the rocker panels I doubt see that much light to fade the surround that much.
