Hydro dip

Anyone know anything about how hard it is? Thinking about giving it a shot and trying it out

Patience and a steady hand. Also, watch a lot of videos. There's an actual technique to how you dip the parts into the water to get a full uniform coverage.

I watched a few youtube videos and it looks like a very doable thing if you are patient

Go for it. I think you can get complete kits for less than 100 bucks.
