Why not? Cheap alternative to actual paint, keeps factory paint in good shape. You can just peel it all off and re paint the car again. As long as it is applied and done correctly it'll look just as good as paint paint and it'll last for a long time too

The color I want to do my car, hoping to paint mine sometime in March

Done right it looks good. And there are much more than just black. They have different chameleon colors available

Yea I'm with silverskoundrel, I would plasti dip it a bright orange or lime green. Both are colors that would come from the factory, but since your using plasti dip the matte color will separate you. I would be 100% confident that you will do it right, because if you don't it will be a pain in the butt to get off. Been there done that.

There is almost an endless amount of colors that can be done. Google Dipyourcar if you want to do further searching. Good luck and post results or updates =]

Yes and no, the website dipyourcar and many other places have a plasti dip product called glossifier that will make the dip a glossy color so it looks like a factory paint, they also have pearlizer and some metallic flakes you can do as well

I think I'm in love here. My dad happens to be a painter so I can do this super cheap. Anyone got any actual numbers on how long the dip will last? Site says 3 years if maintained, seems like a short life. Granted its really easy to drop a new round of it but still.

You can also paint over plasti dip. I thought that was worth mentioning. But its kinda not ideal in some ways

Yep. Saw the video of that. I like this for the flat finish and I think the pearls on that flat look super interesting. Such an unique look.
