Interior questions!

I want to get rid of the ugly tan interior. Has anyone painted or done something to change the dash and door pieces to black?? Suggestions please. Im going to replace the whole carpet. Click image for larger version

I have not done this, but I saw a show on TV where they did and interior with something like this.
Black Plastic Interior Paint Kit

Of course on TV they make it look easy. I would pull the interior out and paint each piece one at a time to see how it goes.

That paint is notorious for chipping and flaking IF you don't properly prep the plastics.

As for longevity I wouldn't expect much.

A car that old you could probably scalp an interior out of a donor car in a junkyard cheap. Provided you're willing to work on it.

Yeah painting the interior doesn't look very good either. Trust me I've done it before. Doesn't hold up well either.
