Mustang paint job?

So I have a problem. My 98 mustang's clear coat is coming off and looks like it has lepracy. I have not had it appraised yet. I was just wondering what I could be expecting. Also, how much more would it be to add stripes along the hood and to have my spoiler and the MUSTANG on my bumper be painted black? The color is chrome yellow. It's a convertible if that helps.

Post some pics...

Another month ends. All targets met. All systems working. All customers satisfied. All staff eagerly enthusiastic. All pigs fed and ready to fly.

Ok basing on the pics I'd say maybe 500-1000 dollars, for everything. Also I think it could be cheaper just buying the emblem and spoiler already painted black.

A good paint job will cost you in the range of $3000.00 to $7000.00 for a good job and depends if you keep the same color, quality of paint and detail. Maaco charges between $500- $2000 and their paint jobs are trash. I would rather my car look like yours than waste money on a cheap paint job cause you'll be right back to the same problems if you go cheap.

Just solid advise you don't have to take it.

Is the whole car like that, or just the hood? Per panel should only be 250-300$. another 150$ to sand the bad clear off

No the it's just the hood and the top of the car like along the door and a little on the trunk. But there is a ding from the previous owner and my dad wanted them to buff that out. We also didn't want to run any risks of a different shade of colors mixing so we would rather spend a little more and get it done good once and for all.

But your car doesn't need any color. Just clear. If there's any color difference between new and old clear, just color sand and buff

You can see the different shades of yellow in it from where the yellow has been exposed and where it hasn't. Like if I peel of some now. It looks different from yellow that has been uncovered for a while

That's b/c the the clear alters the color. ever see faded red paint? the red is 100% fine. the clear is altering the color you see due to oxidation. sand the clear and buff or sand the clear and re-clear brand new. never needing paint (color). a body shop would sand ur uneven clear and lightly into the paint. if they don't break through the color coat they would just clear it then.
