New paint job questions

Ok im gonna repaint my mustang. I want to be very careful with her and do her new paint the right way. So can someone tell me how to wax her correctly. I do not want to burn her paint at all.

Hold the phone. You want to reprint it.. But worried about burning through the paint waxing? First of all it ain't waxing of the right kind if you're going through paint with abrasives. Secondly, have you painted a car before?

I don't think he means he's painting the car, I think he's getting it repainted by Joe the Painter.

However, he would like advice on how to take care of it, so he doesn't spend money on the paint in vain.

Am I right OP? Or are you indeed painting it yourself?

Just use some good quality wax and microfiber towels don't use a mechanical car wash wash it by hand so you don't get swirls in the paint also don't wax for 6 months after the paint job to allow the paint time to cure.

As far as burning the paint, a WAX should never do that, cleaner waxes, polishes and compounds will do that, but with a real wax the worst you do is the dreaded swirl marks.

There are countless helpful videos and articles on Meguair's, Chemical guys and detailed images website.
https://www.youtube.com/user/chemicalGuys
https://www.youtube.com/user/MeguiarsUSA/videos
Then there questions like, do you want to use a wax or a sealant? Or even a a combination of wax, sealant, and glaze.

Meguiar's, Chemical Guys and Dodo Juice are all great places to look for a wax you want, meguiars will be the easiest to get a hold of because you can buy it in a store, but there are some amazing products out there that really take it a step further.

What color is it getting painted?

And i don't know how valid this is, but i've been told a ton that you don't want to wax a freshly painted car for about a month

You need to wait at least 6 months before waxing so the paint has time to cure
