rock chips

I've accumulated some rock chips and scratches over the 3 years I've had my car and it's time that be fixed. What are some recommended brands of paint to use? Any advice or tips would be appreciated.

Dr. Colorchip! Cannot beat it. I've done mine several times and you cannot see anything. Just perfect.

Those swirl marks are pretty nasty. While repairing the chips it would be a good time to polish the car and add a few coats of carnuba wax.

Right now my wax of choice is Meguires Carnuba plus paste wax. After a few days I rinse and dry the car and follow it with Meguires NXT 2.0 liquid wax. It is excessive, but the paint on my 02 looks amazing.

I've looked up waxing tips but have never gone through with it. Also should I wash my car prior to painting, or do I just need to wipe down the chips?

Yes, wash the car. If you were closer to me I would ask you to bring it to me. I would show you how to make it look better than new.

Just be careful. If you have questions or concerns shoot me a message before going any farther. I will gladly walk you through. It would be my pleasure.

If I don't answer right away you will have to forgive me. I am in the midst of completing a grad degree. I doubt a PhD is worth the effort, but it will look good collecting dust with the other diplomas.

From time to time I find myself in Nashville for recording. If you want to try and schedule a time to meet when I am there I will gladly help. I think Nash is almost a halfway point with us.

.....and no, I don't charge for helping people out. I enjoy the time.
