Interior Trim Paint Questions

I do not like the chrome rings around the vents and gauges on the dash. I want them black but am scared o try and remove all of that to paint them. anyone ever used a paint that worked well on interior brush on?

With them being a "plastic chrome" coated plastic traditional paints can be very tricky, but doable. Like said earlier, plasti dip would be your best bet.

All you need to do is scuff them and hit them with an adhesion promoter then primer and base then clear. Just like painting anything else really.

Tagged another thread regarding the removal of dash parts and looks doable. Just worried about blowing up airbag in my face, lol

Just disconnect your battery. I've had mine out. You literally just unplug it. Battery out before, reconnect when you are done, then reconnect. No airbag to the face.

I took out the gauge face plate to run the OBDII wire through it for my nGauge, just do a side at a time and you'll see how easy removal is.

Or YouTube and see it for yourself.

thanks guys. more I research looks like wont be big deal and I can actually put dash back right away. looks like chrome rings insert separately and I can remove panels. remove chrome. reinstall then paint and snap in chrome. Got custom floor mats and Rest of Hydrodipping in next week!

Steering wheel is easy to take out. If you're like me and want extra protection though I disconnected battery, pulled it out, and then let the car sit for for about 10-20 minutes to let everything run out of power completely then took it out. It's just 2 screws then 2 connectors.

Out EASILY, chrome rings all out and everything back in. Really was easy not sure why I was so worried lol. Now I can paint the chrome and reinstall. looks Like i can do that without taking all back out again. they all slip in from front. I am without 2 circle vents until done lol. looks funny but gonna be great. thanks guys!

Looks great. And I'm sure it would prevent the chrome from blinding you like the one around my center vents does lol.
