3.7 Engine Cover

Has anyone with the factory strut tower brace installed the 3.7 engine cover? Did you need to remove the strut tower brace to put it on?

I think you can squeeze it under but removing the bar will make it little easier.

Mine came with both from the factory, but I think taking the STB off would be easier.

Ok. Just so I understand, you are able to put your engine cover on and take it off without removing your strut tower brace?

Yeah it's a tight squeeze but it can be done. There is about a 1-1.5" clearance. You will have to fight with it but doable.

Anyone that installed one of these and had it on for a while, is it easier to keep your engine clean or does it make it more difficult? I wipe my motor down so I don't have any dust or dirt in the crevices on top of the manifold and vale cover. Does this cover allow dirt to get in places that now you can't get to, or does the cover itself get dirty and is now difficult to clean because it is really foam and not plastic (how Ford should have really made it)?

I put one on my 14 vert. it's tight but not hard at all. No need to remove brace. be sure & locate the two holes the groments go in so you can see how far to the right it goes. If you have an auto, the cover will have to be notched for a hose on the driver side front. Cover cuts easily with a box cutter, just cut it as small as it takes.
As for cleaning, as you said, plastic would have been easier. Rubber doesn't wipe clean very easy.
Looks good though, I'll try to bet a photo tomorrow.

Be aware the kit also comes with a plastic extension for the oil filler cap. It SNAPS in place and does not want to come out.
