Quick Clay Question

So I washed my car a few days ago. Been doing nothing but sitting in the garage since. Surface doesn't feel as smooth as it was so i was thinking a clay job would help get that smoothness back for when I'm using detail spray. I don't need to have the car freshly washed and stripped of wax before claying do I? I would hit it with a detail spray before claying to get rid of any little bit of dust buildup since my last wash and then clay bar it. Good to go?

I would give it a quick rinse to get dust/grit off but good to go after that

Yes, wash off any dust first.

Some people may disagree but I would only really recommend claying the car if you're going to do a paint correction right after. Yes it makes the paint feel smooth again but you are still rubbing contaminants all over your paint and possibly creating new swirls in the process.

I clay once to twice a year but the clay bar stripe everything down to the clear coat. So after clay baring the car you should be following up with a good wax not just a spray. I use spray wax to maintain a good wax.

Definitely, want to wax after clay bar! I also use a product called iron x as well. It removes all the iron deposits in the paint and the wheels.
