Sneak Preview: AM’s 2012 Boss 302 Magazine Coverage

A few weeks back, Pete Epple of Muscle Mustangs & Fast Fords dropped by to check out our untouched 2012 Boss 302! While he was here, we added a few modifications to help us make this thing just a little bit faster! After a round of mods and dyno tuning, we headed to the track to check out what it could do against our 2011 Automatic Mustang GT with similar mods. Watch out for the full story and details in the January issue of Muscle Mustangs & Fast Ford Magazine, dropping November 23, 2011!

Why an auto? DOn't you think that is unfair? How about putting a stall in the auto to make up for the M6 being able to launch harder? And the Auto didn't have headers last heard. Does it now? Or a Boss intake?

He said similar not exact. Those are standard on the boss? Not to mention the internals..

LT's are not standard on a boss. Comparing a auto with no stall to a manual is just stupid on a drag race. Throw a stall in the auto and it is a even race.. They would have been better off comparing a manual 5.0 to the boss with the same mods. After all the 5.0 has went 10's with bolt ons and stock intake not a boss one.

We had the auto for a while and it was the closest thing we had to the Boss. Our new 5.0GT is now a manual, so we will do another comparison down the line.
Yes, I agree running the two together was kind of silly, but it's all we had all the time to settle the grudge-match.

Yes, the auto GT had the boss manifold but no LTs when it ran the Boss.

We will be doing another segment with our current GT and the Boss in the near future, so stay tuned!

Good info. And looking forward to the rematch between the two. Thanks for the explanation.
