Bama chip

I've had my chip on for like three weeks now and I've had idling issues. I thought it may be my TB or my MAM so I cleaned them both but it still occurs, I tested voltage to both and their perfect. My issue is when I come to a stop my car idles around 1200 and it takes about 5 minutes to return to normal range, before I installed my chip this didn't happen. Any suggestions?

Chip? What brand? In most cases for most cars chips are trouble.

Is your timing(@ the distributor) set to base 10*?

Had issues with mine(was in car @ purchase), I reinstalled it with battery and spout disconnected and timing at base 10* and all my issues went away.

There are actual plug and play 'chips' for our cars?

Re: Bama chip

we have no info on the year car or motor/trans etc. Some older cars could only run on chips.

I cleaned my comp. and chip very well and did the process 3 times to make sure it was very clean and all it did was ef with my car, twice the anti-theft turned on and shut the car down WHILE I was driving and locked up the steering wheel, thank god no one was around. I restarted it and it died again. I pulled the chip, never happened again.

It's an SCT 4-bank chip and I found the problem. I had my timing advanced to 14 degrees. I returned it to stock 10 and no more idle issues

---------- Post added at 09:48 PM ---------- Previous post was at 09:47 PM ----------

And it's a '95 Cobra SVT so no tuner made for me and don't worry about chips, other than the idle issues she runs a lot stronger with the chip
