I don't have bama, but I have seen so many times on different threads where people have to call bama to get their tunes adjusted because their motor run erratically. Guess not a huge problem but seems to occur quite often

I read that on quite a few reviews, that's why I made this thread, to get input from those that do have it. Are there other companies like bama I could check out?

I bought mine from LRS and have had zero issues with tunes and I know they do free tunes for life too. BBR does the tunes. Awesome tunes with great customer service

Re: tell me about your bama tuning experience.

It's gonna be all about opinion. I've seen threads on S197 bashing BBR,Lund and Bama so it's probably gonna come down to research and personal preference.

I think WNT2GOFST had some issues with BBR. Might wanna get his opinion on them also.

It seems to very. From the reviews I saw a number of different years, automatics and manual. Maybe its just a glitch in that specific tune, I mean, the people tuning it are only human and do make mistakes. its a possibility ya know, I did read more positive than negative.its a pretty penny for a hand held, so I need the opinion of my mustang brothers, the ones that have done it or have a good understanding of it.

Re: tell me about your bama tuning experience.

Mistakes do happen, Human is Human, I have Custom Tunes done on my car, and one time, my Tech and I were talking about the results of the ride back home and based on my discription of characteristics, he thought about and asked me If they had changed my gears in my car, I replied yes and he told me he had forgot that and did not include that info in the Tune, so I had to come back by and he had to input that info. Car speedo is correct now and it's fine, but mistakes do happen.

The tune is a good idea. bama tunes are generally pretty conservative but will come with decent gain. i also prefer a safer tune. i wouldnt expect 31 tho... throttle response gets way better too. its a good investment and first mod.

I've had zero problems with my BAMA tune with pretty good response and pickup. Where I could only spin my drag radials if they were cold I can now spin them through first with the tune...

Re: tell me about your bama tuning experience.

Bout 5 or so yrs ago before Bama was with AM (when I got my first tune from them) alot of people sought out Bama. The bigger the name the bigger the problem it seems. They have always been good to me and I haven't had a issue yet.

I have never done it but I believe its an option on the tuner to return vehicle to stock (it stores the stock tune) then its ready to go (unlocked).

There MAY be a limit on how many times it can be put on a new car.... you can also pay to have them unlocked.

So you can use it as much as you want on any given ECU, but you are limited to 5 vehicles? I'm quizzing so much cause I'm fixin to buy one. I want to buy the one that connects w/Bluetooth on iPhone and iPad.

Sounds good! Would you then go back to this shop should you drop another add-on and need a new tune?

I hear it's louder, not much else I can add to that. I heard you need pigtails for your O2 sensors. Don't know if that's so they fit or to fake them or both. Let us know how your easy breathing Stang does after that update!

Can only tune 1 car at a time....you can set that car back to stock then tune another but only 1 car can be tuned at any given time and you can only switch cars 5 times before you have to send it in to get it unlocked for $30

The free for life is, if you buy your next mod from them. All companies do that.

Thinking about this and wondering... What if you buy a used Mustang that already has a tune, but the tuner was not sold with the car. Do you think a new tuner would treat the ECU as stock or would it have a problem with this? Maybe it just saves the tune as "stock" and moves on...?

Not at all, I spoke with him about it this morning when I dropped my stang off and he said free tunes for life period. This guy is the owner and also a very good friend of my best friend. Most companies may do that but not this one.

Re: tell me about your bama tuning experience.

My BAMA experience

buy tuner
plug in tuner
load tune
gained 4 mpg city and 4 mpg highway on a bone stock 01 V6 Mustang
never seen a real dyno but my seat-of-the-pants detected a noticeable change in throttle response.

Re: tell me about your bama tuning experience.

Nothing but the best from BAMA and my sct tuner! My 06 4.0 is the first i have ever reprogrammed and couldn't have been easier. Its by email! How amazing! Love the tunes for life. I've already changed tunes several times to accommodate performance parts in only months. The very best part of BAMA has to be the people. Always have felt welcome to call customer support about any questions I have. Can't thank y'all enough!
