Bama tuner

Hey AM,
I know there are a few threads on here about the v6 drive shafts. I have a question hoping y'all could help me out. I bought a tuner and noticed after that the governor goes to 124-ish right now. Everything is stock. But all I have heard is the driveshafts fail at higher speeds. I live in Germany and am constantly driving 100mph and up for extended distances. Since the governor has been changed im concerned about my driveshaft failing. Am I still safe to drive 120 without worrying about my driveshaft failing?

ashpow24,

There's been a few driveshaft failures on the newer v6 models, that you obviously already know. In my opinion, I always like to over strengthen/build my cars to handle more then they can produce. In this case, since you continually go over 100mph for extended periods of time, I think it would be a good idea to upgrade the driveshaft. Normally, I probably wouldn't do this on a stock car, but you seem to have an extreme (but lucky haha) case.

You'll be good with any one of these driveshaft upgrades! Just select the one for your year/trans. Let me know if you have any other questions too!

Shane

Exactly what he said...its better to just replace the driveshaft. Im in germany as well and thats on my build list.

Yeah I'd upgrade it. Should get some wider wheels and tires too to be a little more planted. Don't know what you're running now? And be sure you're tires are rated for higher speeds. I'd also upgrade your suspension but all of those things would cost you quite a bit
