Diffrence between bama tunes

I have a bama tuner and I can't tell ANY difference between the 93 race tune and the 83 street tune except on the race tune my average MPG goes from about 26 to 16 but it takes off exactly the same has the same shift points as far as I can tell they both are MUCH better than stick but I'm just wondering what the difference is between the tunes? I sure can't tell

Re: Diffrence between bama tunes

It changes how aggressive the tune is. So air-fuel ratio, throttle response is big. The street tune is also more of a "safe" tune compared to the race tune.

If you are truly seeing and feeling zero change, you should probably do some data logging and get in contact with BAMA so they can take a look for you.

Yea I did 3 runs on an abandoned road and the take off and throttle response were EXACTLY the same between the tunes. But even the street tune is way more aggressive than stock.

i had a 2011 5.0 and did back to back dynos with a short cool down in between and ran the 87 street first and then the 93 octane and saw a 20 rwhp difference

---------- Post added at 04:38 PM ---------- Previous post was at 04:35 PM ----------

Also the air fuel ratio was still very conservative on a n/a car on the race tune i ended up running the race the whole time

Jgill1992,

I'm sorry that you're unhappy with the results from the 93R Tune. The race tune is designed to ensure the largest increase in vehicle performance. Using the highest grade of fuel available in your area is mandatory. This file is designed for "Race Use Only", as the timing, fuel, and throttle response settings are very aggressive. It is so aggressive that we do not recommend it for daily driving as it may cause your vehicle to try to jump out from a stop and easily spin the tires. On automatics, we implement entirely new shift points and firmness settings to further enhance the all-out performance of the vehicle.

It sounds like there may be something going on within the tune. I'm going to get you taken care of immediately. Shoot me a PM with you're order number included and I'll have my head tuning specialist Mike Wilson contact you this afternoon. I'm confident he'll be able to get your tune spot on with a few peeks into you're Tune file.

I appreciate your patience while we get your situation handled. Let me know if you have any questions!

- Dan

NOT disappointed with my bama tunes at all! Even the 83 street tune tears up the road WAY better than stock. I think it's amazing what you guys can do with a simple e-mail tune!

I'm out of state for a wile but I'll shoot you a PM as soon as I'm back with my stang!

umm not a huge difference but the shifts were a little firmer on the 93 and you could feel a little more on the highway punches

That's why I don't mess with pre loaded tunes.. It's best to have someone who's good custom tune it.. Every car is different

Save a lil more $. For $1,200 I got the upper pulley JLT big air intake and had it custom dyno tuned. Got pretty much 100hp out of that

I am going to spend the 800 on a pulley/idler/remover/cai. Amd lay down 525-540 rwhp and that will be perfect. The track i run at requires cage at 7.4 (eighth mile) so i am just trying to be in the 7.49 range cause i am not caging my shelby whatsoever

godsdisciple85,

You're stock numbers look spot on. We've seen bone stock Shelby's lay down around 430-440RWHP. With just a Bama tune you can expect to see between 490-500RWHP!

We're constantly developing out custom tunes with the latest and greatest! Between our 14 different AM Mustangs and tons of street/track testing, and constant testing on our DynoJet 224xlc, we're looking for any minor tweaks to be made that can benefit you guys. Our lead tuner Mike Wilson works hard to give you guys one of the best custom tunes on the market! We're also part of Fords Technology Transfer Program & Work very closely with Ford to insure that all of our tunes are perfect!

With a Pulley, Idler, Remover and CAI that 525-540 RWHP you're looking for is very realistic. After you get all of those mods installed make sure you give Bama call and get a revised tune file emailed over!

Let me know if you have any questions. Our Bama Performance tuning specialists are here in the building Monday-Friday from 9AM-5:30PM EST and Saturday 10AM-3PM EST. You can hit them up directly at 888.226.9764.

godsdisciple85,

We've seen anywhere from 487-505RWHP depending on how healthy the car is and occasionally you'll get you're "factory freak"! I know you take care of you Gt500 so I bet you'll be very happy with the gains.

If you want to talk to my Bama department and hear real stories/numbers feel free to hit them up! Our Bama Performance tuning specialists are here in the building Monday-Friday from 9AM-5:30PM EST and Saturday 10AM-3PM EST they're number is at 888.226.9764.

I'm running a 91 performance tune in my 2011 v6 and its awesome. I don't track race and the 91 race tune is not for my style. I love the performance tune. I didn't feel the car pull any harder with the race tune compared to the performance tune. The race tune did have the rpm's higher when doing 10 MPH. Love my bama sct tuner and American Muscle is the best. Great customer service and lightening quick delivery service.

I'm really wanting the most down low power. I don't usually ever go over 60 so high end is not a concern with me. I just want that extra power in the 15-40mph range.

Jgill1992,

I think I know the perfect tune for you. I bet you would love our 93 Hybrid tune. This tune shares the same characteristics as the Race tune as the timing, fuel, and throttle response settings are very aggressive but has the Street tune low end torque.

Let Mike know if this is something you'd be interested in. I've sent him over your information, you should hear from him today!

That sounds sick! I found myself enjoying the 87 race tune more because of the torque but I missed the throttle response if the 93 race tune. Sounds like that might be perfect for me! I'll be sure and let him know I'm interested

I had a feeling you'd like that! Definitely let mike know when he contacts you and he'll be able to hook you up with that!

I'm having a similar but different problem. I have 93 performance tune and it rips *** all over and feels really aggressive, however, when I load the 93 race tune, it falls on its face. It might be slightly better than the 93 street. I'm wondering if it's possible the tune files were mixed up.

Hey,

We're more than happy to look into this for you! Shoot us a call tomorrow morning and we'll have a Bama Tuning Specialist review the tunes for you. I'm a PM away if you have any questions in the meantime!

I'm having a hard time with my 91 race tune from bama. Before the tune I ran stock tune with no issue but when I went to race tune say I was at 50 mph in faith gear and put a little more throttle into it it would have a bogging rattle sound that sounded terrible and so I put my car back to stock and it didn't do it it went away and tested it and then put the 91 race tune on again and yet again it would have that bogging rattle sound so I don't know what's wrong too much timing? Too much spark? I'm at a loss and do t know what to do I contacted them and they gave me a rewrite tune and still the same thing happened also my plugs are not fault or anything they are brand new so idk
