Question Mach1 Chin Spoiler vs Original

AM has a sale on the Mach1 chin spoilers right now. I have needed a new one for my Mach since I bought it. My question is for those who have bought the AM Mach1 chin spoiler. The pictures make it look like it is shiny. The original chin spoilers are not shiny. They have a texture to them, similar to the cowl behind the hood on our Mustangs.

Attachment 90679
^Here's mine. It's wavey and has some scrapes from the previous owner(s).

Is the AM chin spoiler similar in texture to the cowl below our windshields, behind our hoods?

Is the AM chin spoiler shiny?

Mach 1 Chin Spoiler (99-04 GT, V6; 99-01 Cobra)

I'd love to pick this up to improve my Mach's looks, but I want it to look correct. Let me know your thoughts. Thanks!

I've heard that AM is more glossy and that LMR has the textured one. I heard though.

EBay has a few different kinds, Mach one is $55. It says its made longer to line up with wheels.

Azure,

Good question! Our Mach1 chin spoiler is a stain black, not gloss. I believe it's very similar to the OEM color, but I wouldn't say it's textured. I honestly can't recall how textured the Mach1 chin spoiler is, so it may be closer than I'm recalling.

Not sure if this helps!

Shane

I guess I shouldn't say it's textured. It's just not smooth. That pic you have is pretty darn close. I think maybe the one in the AM video on the web page has some Armor-All, etc on it..? If so, that would probably make it shiny-looking.

The one at AM is different. It is smooth, and it does have a shine to it. I had one on my v6 and thought it was a matte, but it definitely isn't like the cowl vent. I hear that people get ones like you're talking about from another website, not sure which though.

Ive had AM and LMRs....the LMR has the oem mach finish whereas the AM is satin with a sheen. As much as i love AM if you want oem look go to LMR.

No problem! I'm just glad you found the correct finish you were looking for, even if it's not from us. Nothing's worse than settling!

I'm gonna see what I can do to make that happen! I know having an exact OEM replacement is really important for guys with real Mach1's. I'd hate to turn you guys away!

Shane, let me know if you guys happen to start carring the OEM chin spoilers. I will not be ready to buy until ~July, before "Race to Indy" Mustang car show at O'Reilly Raceway Park.

Azure,

Good news! I talked with my Product Development Team and they said they'll definitely be able to replicate the OE Mach1 Chin Spoiler in the future. However, the new revised replica chin spoiler probably won't arrive until around July.

Hopefully they make it here just in time for your event. Give me a shout in May or June and I'll check on the progress!
