Why the differences in BAMA Performance Dyno readouts?

I recently started looking into BAMA performance tuners (and bought one!), and as I was looking at the various CAI and SF3/X3 combos I noticed the stock HP of the V6 automatic was different depending on different videos?

All the videos were of an 05-09 mustang V6 auto but showed different dyno performance. I was just curious what the actual stock numbers are? I can send/attach screenshots if need be but here are the numbers I saw from the various videos:

STOCK Runs on each product page:
BAMA Tuner only w/93 Octane Race Tune (STOCK run) -- 181HP, 202TQ
JLT Next Gen CAI w/93 Octane Race Tune (STOCK run) -- 172HP, 196TQ

93 Octane Race Tune Runs on each product page:
BAMA Tuner only w/93 Octane Race Tune (TUNED run) -- 195HP, 210TQ
JLT Next Gen CAI w/93 Octane Race Tune (TUNED run) -- 196HP, 224TQ
FORD Racing CAI w/93 Octane Race Tune (TUNED run) -- 190HP, 221TQ

Why the difference in stock numbers? Also, the numbers are showing the Ford Racing CAI w/Tune actually drops performance by 5HP vs. just a tune? Just curious because I'd like to get a CAI eventually but I'd like to know accurate numbers and if I'll take a hit to my HP in exchange for more torque (Ford Racing CAI).

On a side note: Huge thanks to American Muscle/BAMA Performance! I'm running my new tune and couldn't be happier!

Stock and Tuned numbers are going to be different every time you run the car. There's a ton of things that effect this, such as Temperature, back to back runs, heat soak, different dyno's, different days, level of elevation, enclosed dyno, outside dyno, dyno brand, Mustang dyno VS DynoJet, air density etc...

I'm glad to hear you're enjoying your new tune, we really appreciate your feedback! Wait until you get a CAI under your hood, that will really wake up your sixxer.

I hope this helps. Please let me know if you have any questions or need some assistance! Our Bama Performance tuning specialists are here in the building Monday-Friday from 9AM-5:30PM EST and Saturday 9AM-5:30PM EST. You can hit them up directly at 888.226.9764 and they'll get you squared away!

Thanks for the reply. So is there any way to get an accurate estimate of what kind of gains I will see? With an 11HP difference in two of the same pulls (stock v6 on what appears to be the same dyno) it makes my decision a lot harder as to whether I should invest in a CAI based on the results...

I'm sure I'll eventually get one, but I'm just curious if there are any sites I can refer to with maybe an average of 2-3 stock pulls vs. 2-3 pulls with a CAI? I've tried researching a bit but haven't found much...

I'm recommending this tuner to all the local mustang owners btw! You're customer service is excellent as well. Every time I've called they've been very helpful. I did see on another forum where you mentioned an "economy tune" of sorts, but when I called they just recommended Street for city driving and Performance for highway. They said it didn't exist? Is there actually an economy-based tune for highway/overall fuel economy?

Thanks!

You are going to see some gains with a CAI, it may not be "seat of the pants" gains but there will be a little bit, each CAI is made differently as well, so they way they effect the gains will differ as well. Do some reasearch on the CAI itself (not just dyno runs) and find out the material its made of, the shape, the interior surface, how many and how sharp the turns are, all of that effects what the gains will be.
