American Muscle doesn't always price match!

First off, let me say I am a huge fan of American Muscle and buy majority of my mods and parts from them since I found there company. Recently, I have been contemplating purchasing a pre-owned or new Strut Tower Brace for my 11 V6. Just to give it a little better feel around sharp turns. I had placed interest on this site for a strut tower brace and a member was kind enough to post cj pony parts was having a sale on the Boss 302 Strut Tower Brace and was selling for $119.99. It was indicated this was a very good quality and respectable brand and did what strut tower braces do. I was also told this was a great price for this mod and to take advantage of it.

Of course being a loyal American Muscle customer I went on their web site and found the same Boss 302 Strut Tower Brace as cj pony parts had and AM's was listed at 179.99, $ 60 dollars more. I called American Muscle spoke with the customer service rep who by the way was very nice. I had inquired about purchasing this Boss 302 Strut Tower Brace and since I knew they price matched would they sell it for the same 119.99. The customer sales rep looked up cj pony parts web site , looked at the 302 Boss Tower Strut Brace and confirmed it was listed at 119.99. The sales rep asked me to hold while he checked with his supervisor to see if they could price match.

The answer was nope, they could not price match and it must of been some type of mistake for the 119.99 price. So needless to say, I purchased the Boss 302 Strut Tower Brace from Cj pony parts for 119.99 with free shipping. I feel like I cheated on AM, lmao but I'm not going to pay $60 dollars more for the same exact Boss 302 strut tower brace. So in the end, American Muscle doesn't always price match. I still love American Muscle, however they just lost this one sale of an item.

Hmmm. Even if it was a mistake, cj would have had to have sold it for the listed price. They couldn't back out of the sale at that point. So they just simply said, "nope, that's a mistake?" How could they possibly know that was a "mistake"?

U should have asked to speak to the supervisor. U should have said sooooo, I have purchased x amount of parts from u and u advertise price matching, but only do it when u choose to? That kind of thing makes u lose customers.

I love AM too but that's kind of odd to me. I buy pretty much everything that I have on my Shelby from them.

Just for future reference, they won't price match and let u use a discount code at the same time either.

That's a significant difference. Loyalty is one thing. That 60 bucks buys other mods.

To play devils advocate, it's a 20% off sale at CJ.

Cjs has ran it in their DOTD for $89.99 before. 99% sure of that as I should have bought it then. I know it was sub $100 for 100% certainty.

Lmao. Yeah, I like AM too and shocked when they wouldn't price match because they advertise price matching. The sales rep even confirmed the price of the item on cj pony parts web site , so it wasn't like I was lying and trying to get over on them. 60 bucks is still 60 bucks, especially for the same exact Boss 302 tower strut brace. Its not like its a different model and lesser quality strut tower brace. Its the same ford part! Goofy. The guy said he spoke with his supervisor and they couldn't sell it for that low of price. I said okay have a great day. Clicked on purchase from pony parts and cart said 119.99. No mistake there! Lol.

Another thing we don't know, is how long has CJ had that part(s) on their shelves? Could be trying to liquidate some inventory at cost.

Lots of businesses do this. Sell one item at cost or slightly below cost, hoping you will not only buy it, you will also buy something else.

Honestly CJ PP always has this part on sale! I've directed different members to the same link. I've seen them sell it for 110, 120, & 150 so I'm sure it's not a "mistake" on CJ PPs part. But like u guys are saying $60 is $60 F that! Haha.

If I read on a companies web site they price matched, and when I called they wouldn't, I'd never call that company again, period.

Really? It's the principal of it, it's called having character. Either mean what you say, or don't say it. Your only as good as your word in my book.

I agree it wasn't right on AMs part but it's not serious enough (for me at least) to stop shopping at a place especially like AM who is usually REALLY awesome with customer service!

Oh, the customer sales rep was nice and all but they refused to price match , so if that's the case don't advertise price matching. Say price matching on selected items. Lol. I'll still order stuff from them but if something is priced better like 60 dollars better, I will go to that other businesses.

My loyalty is to my family and our money FIRST.
If the brick and mortars around here were worth while and competitively priced ...I would never shop online.

If a company won't do as they advertise, all that happens is they drop a place on the list of shops to buy from.

That being said, 119 should have been doable in my opinion.

See, right here AM lost a sale due to the bad publicity, should have matched the price for the op to start with.
