Chin Spoiler removal Shelby GT500 2013

Ok I have a 2013 Shelby and I was removing the lower air dam to put on the Motorized front plate hideaway holder AM sells. I pulled all the bolts but there was a few metal clips along the front. Well to make a long story short they broke because of the cheap design. Now I am wondering is there a special tool to remove these clips and does AM sell a new lower air dam and clips for the 13 Shelby? I didn't see a direct replacement for it on the website. Thanks Mike

I guess the best way to find out will be to call the dealer and find out how much they'll cost to replace?

I have called them they are around $179 for all three pieces. I am more wondering if AM has an after market and if there is a special tool required to unsnap and replace the clips. Thanks Mike

As of right now we don't sell an aftermarket lower air dam for the 13-14 Shelby's. I'll definitely get this product suggestion sent over to my Product Development and Purchasing team to see what they can find for us!

Also, I don't think there's any special tool to pop these clips off. I would imagine they're like every other ford clip and just require patience and being extremely careful!

I hope this helps. I'm sorry I couldn't be more help!

No Problem Thanks for the reply

I was just surprised to see how cheap these clips are. I will get another set from Ford and this time I will figure out a set of pliers that I can modify to take them off and put them on.

Yeah the stock clips aren't the best. When installing the Boss Bumper/Splitter on my car, I broke a couple of the factory clips! Ford should have them in stock and they're not very expensive at all.

The clips are fine I looked at it again yesterday after I cooled off and noticed it was the spoiler itself that broke. I may take it to my dealer and ask if they can help me with the price but I will not hold my breath. I will see tomorrow I have an appointment for another little problem.
