Rap, I was actually thinking of you today but not in a creepy stalker way but when I was watching the cars race at the end of the show. There was a bunch of Gt500's, SVT Cobra's, 4.6's and 5.0's running today. For cars with some serious dyno power numbers and drag radial tires, the majority of the cars were running horrible times. I mean, 5.0's with drag radials were running 14 second 1/4 mile times. Gt500's running 12.5 1/4 mile times. 4.6's running 15 second 1/4 mile times. The track was prepped for a 5 second rocket 1/4 mile car that went 280 mph. Was around 86 degrees with low humidity.

So I thought about what you always say. Huge dyno numbers don't mean crap. Lol! My buddy today could not understand how some of these big dyno number cars aren't running far faster times. My buddy drive a Bucik Grand National many years ago and put down 480 rwhp. On drag radials he would consistanly run 10.60's 1/4 mile times. My buddy was like how does a 662 HP Gt500 barley break into the 11's 1/4 mile time. Ha ha

That's right lol, if you can't plant the power, it's not going anywhere.
That's why my car is a roll car. I would run a embarrassing time at the track and I know it.

I watched some of those guys too Kona.

Seemed like newbies. Reaction times were TERRIBLE, people couldn't stage to save their lives, people running AC while rolling down the strip, spinning tires and not even trying to stop or pedal it. I seriously wanted to scream at some of them.

Not to mention the second guy to run in a 03/04 cobra who blew his motor or something right in the 60 ft and continued driving the entire length of the strip and ruined that lane for the rest of the guys. Seemed like everyone had a problem hooking over there after that.

So, its all about the set up of the car. These guys must not be setting their cars up right to be 1/4 mile track cars

I'm going to have to make this trip next year. Just have to convince the wife to take that long of a drive in the car.

Yes sir. Takes a lot of time and trial/error to get a car to hook on the track.
Like mine for instance it's brutal from a 40, 50,60 hooks and goes. Just how it's setup.
Heads up dig 4get about it.

Rap, you really would have a blast. I actually saw a mustang with a Texas plate today and also made me think of you. I plan on staying for the whole weekend next year. Rap, you would actually like my buddy and get along with him. Although he can be a bit moody and not Mr. personality at first, he is a GM guy.

He has a 1998 Trans Am, Old School LT1 engine in it but bored out the engine and put big a$$ cams on it. Sounds great. Only put down 412 rwhp on a mustang dyno but he doesn't track race anymore. He is a huge fan of the LS motors and loves that Buick Grand National. 😉

My buddy wore a GM performance T-shirt today at a 3,000 plus mustang car show. I told him if he gets his a$$ handed to him, he was on his own. Lol

I can hook from a 40 with the M&H's out back. It's in 2nd gear bc of my 4.10's.

Anything under 40 it's not good though.

If rap goes I'll go. But it would be much more of a stretch coming from CA. I would only be able to do it if I could trailer the Mustang. Even then though gas and hotel nights would kill me.

Maybe one day.

Travelocity for hotels.
I'm going to plan on going next year, rather do that vs mustang week. To much dumb crap going on at mustang week.

There was so much awesomeness there it was overwhelming. Majority of the cars were just beautiful and so well maintained.

Soccerluvr, Just fly your a$$ into Philadelphia airport, I'll pick you up bro and take you to the show with me. We can stay for the weekend up there or longer and I'll drop you back off at the airport for your ride back home.

American Muscle 2015 Car Show

If I came all the way out I would want to bring the Mustang also. Maybe I'll price some stuff out. Got a year to plan.

Need to get some more stuff done though to make it worth it to bring the car out.
