American Muscle 2015 Car Show

I'm planning on attending this year. Figuring on hotel issues, I am planning on staying about 90mins out of town after driving up from Virginia, then drive in first thing in the morning. Anyone who has been before, how is traffic getting into the venue? Should I start stretching out the calf on my clutch leg now?

Why not just grab a hotel room and roll up Friday?

There is a group of us rolling up from VA together but we are heading up the day before.

DieSeven and another guy with an 11 GT will head up from Richmond on Friday. So you guys could both roll with us. For you from Williamsburg you will have to hit Richmond anyway.

Yep, 45 min out of Richmond. That's where we turn right. I'm teaching a class in Hampton Friday but will likely hit the road Friday around 6p. What time are you guys planning on oulling out?

I'm not sure yet but I would guess way before that. It's at least a 4 hour drive so 6pm wouldn't put us there until late. Half the fun from what I've heard is the hotel parking lots that's basically a pre show

We should be able to all sync up in Richmond and roll up in a nice group then

One thing is for sure, we have to beat that DC traffic on a Friday or it's going to suck

Oh yeah, that would. Y'all have EZpass? Meeting up in Richmond sounds good.

If we make it through there before 330 we can run in the carpool since it's open to all traffic. If we are on the road from Richmond by 11:30-12 we should be good.

I'd think we'd be good leaving at 12:30 or so, it only takes about an hour and a half to DC. We'd still be past there well before rush hour. It's about a 2 hour drive from where I'm staying at a friends, to Richmond.

These mileage figures come from the Directions posted on American Muscle.

Distance from Hotels:

11.0 miles
BEST WESTERN PLUS Reading Inn & Suites, 2299 LANCASTER PIKE,
Shillington, PA.

14.5 miles
Hampton Inn Reading/Wyomissing, 1800 Papermill Rd., Wyomissing, PA.

9.6 miles
Holiday Inn, 6170 Morgantown Road Morgantown, PA.

I left with the crowd around 7:30 in the morning from the Holiday Inn last year. It was around 30 minutes to get in the track. Another 1-20 to get into the parking section. You had to drive from the front of the park all the way to the rear of the park. Mustangs were everywhere.

Too bad there isn't an EZ-Pass for the parking section.

The rides not all that bad I swear! Now getting into the show itself can be a little "fun" When 3,000 Mustangs rain down on Maple-Grove there's naturally going to be a little bit of a line but it's fun I swear. I'm looking forward to putting faces to names this year!

Just signed up, went through the headache of trying to get into my old account, couldn't remember the password, and that email isn't working right now. So I created a new one and signed up.

Last Year with all of the Mustangs going in, It was not bad at all

It seems they kept the line going in moving pretty good. Not fast but moving.
If you have never been to an American Muscle Mustang show, You are gonna be astounded. Even at the old site it was very professionally done and last year at the Maple Grove it was really well put together (EXCEPT FOR THE FOOD AND WATER VENDORS BEING SWAMPED) Alex says they will be better with more vendors this time.
I sure hope they have good Pizza vendor. Mario likes Pizza.
It is coming up fast and I'm betting the Best Western will be full of wild horses early this year. I made my reservation and I'm ready to ride.
Ronnie

Good Idea

He is way more intelligent then the one we have now.
He is WAY better then that Woman Democrat that is running.
He does not lie.
He likes everybody.
He loves my Mustang.
He loves car shows.

He would make an Excellent President.

Ronnie

Here he is at the show last year

Just to clarify (I'm a detail guy unfortunately). The $25 registration thing on AM where you pick your shirt size is the registration correct? (I'm assuming they give you the shirt at the gate.)

You'll get the shirt there at the booth but if you bring your significant other together with you while claiming you're shirt they'll give you an extra one, at least this what happened to me. Can't argue with that.

Did your significant other look like this? (Not the one with four legs?)
