Going to do my best. I was originally coming home from Afghanistan in May, but now I'm here until the end of July. Will be tight time-wise, especially since I have to throw on my one-piece ds and supercharger when i get back first. Fingers crossed.

From Wake Forest, NC the drive was 6.5 hours driving, but it was college move-in weekend in 2015, so that added another 1.5 - 2 hours for traffic around the DC/Maryland area. I-95 was a nightmare going back home. Still worth the trip though!

Its 8.5 from where I am, 550 miles. Would be a nice time though. Are the hotel prices crazy for close ones? Or reasonable

If you make reservations early, it's not bad...unless your wife / significant other is particular about where you stay. Mine only wants to stay in the Hampton Inn. 😥

If I can keep from backing into another curb, I'll be there. Same hotel as you and the last two years. Got an event next month with the Blue Mustang Club, heading down to run the Tail of the Dragon / Devil's Triangle. A couple of other runs but these are the most challenging.

Interesting that AM has not advertised this on their dedicated forum on this site as of yet.

Nope, but the forum presence as a whole for AM all over the internet has really gone down. I'm going to go ahead and say it was not cost efficient and/or they are focusing on the mass of FB groups that now seem to be really hurting car forum membership as a whole.

Either way, it's a great show and a great way to hang out with everyone from the forum. Regardless of who's hosting it, everyone should come and have a blast! It's the people that make the experience.

I would love to go to but unfortunately I can't justify the 25 hour drive there. Wish there was more of this kind of stuff near the center of the country.

No time to drive to PA this year. I may make Myrtle Beach if Project Pony goes though.

I'm really bummed out because I probably won't be going this year. I have to get my right hip replaced and I was told it would be at least four to six months before I would be back to normal.
The hip is so worn out now that I'm stuck in a wheel chair because they don't want any weight put on the hip.
I did all of the pre-operation stuff and cleared for surgery. I'll find out Friday the 7th. when and where.
The VA is doing it but I have to go to a specialist hospital because of the pin already in my leg.
I sure will be there in 2018 with my Mario, He is not going to be happy this year if we can't go.
We drive up from Daytona beach and the drive is as good as the show for Mario, He likes to stop at all the rest areas and sniff around.

I will know when and where they will do the surgery by Wednesday the 12th. I'm hoping they can do it real soon so I can recover enough to go. If they do it in April and things go good, I may be good enough to go in August. I'll just have to do the sitting again this year but I will at least be there.
The people that don't go because it may be a six or seven hour drive are really missing out on a great Mustang event.
If I ever do hit the lotto, Me and Mario are going to Mustang week in Sturgis S.D. I used to go on my Harley so I sure will enjoy going in my Mustang with Mario.
BUT, The Maple Grove all Mustang show is still my first choice due to it is """ONLY""" Mustangs and not any other brands of cars.
As far as ""TOO FAR TO DRIVE""" as Bucko always say's "Mustangs are to be driven"
To me the drive is a wonderful way to enjoy A Mustang.
The American Muscle show just tops the fun off 100%
Ronnie

Hi Grimkreg,
If your staying at the best Western, You will love the Motel parking lot show on Friday night. It is great. Saturday night there are still a bunch of Mustangs and people hanging in the parking lot.
I'm not sure, but I do believe that they offer a discount if attending the show.
I get a Veterans discount and if you belong to AAA or some other things, A discount is available.
My opinion is that this is the "PLACE TO STAY" but there is a Holiday Inn with an indoor pool as well as a few other places.
Have fun, and I'm sure you will love this Mustang event.

My gf would probably want a pool lol. Probably a good idea to get the option to cancel incase the show gets pushed back to the rain date?
Is it the best western plus reading inn 6.69 miles away? Ill probably end up pulling the trigger

Call the Best Western "DIRECT" at 610 777 7888 and make your reservations. Ask about the discounts they offer. AAA or AARP or maybe they have a special rate for the show.
I just reserve on line and they always had a list of discounts on the reservation page.

I really don't think so. I see the Doctor Monday to see when it will be done.
This is the absolute best Mustang show because it is for "ONLY MUSTANGS" and no other Fords or cars allowed.
My Mario will sure be disappointed but there is always next year.

Hope all works out Ronnie. Planning on being there this year. Let's hope it doesn't work out like last year with my car totaled beforehand.

I sure hope not.
You are going to love this event. I found the best place to stay is the BEST WESTERN in Shillington.

I hate missing it this year but last year I could not walk around much anyway. Mario & I just sat under the canape with other Forum members. It was still nice to be there though.
This year I can't hardly walk at all, So getting a new hip Tuesday.
I will be there next year
