Anybody know of some cheap mods that help out some on Mach1's? Already have cold air and full exhaust just want the best bang for the buck, would rather stay away from getting stuff with a motor basically stock that dosnt help much.

I'd say something to improve your 60ft time. Wider summer street tires, 275's or wider. Drag radials will definately help, just keep in mind that will stress out your drivetrain more. If you have a manual tranny, I'd say a short throw shifter would be a good bang for your buck upgrade. Nice, quick shifts can cut your 1/4 time down. If you have an auto tranny, a tuner would be a good bang for your buck upgrade as you will get faster shifts. You can find all these goodies at AmericanMuscle.com.

Mx. Go for a steep set of gears if you really want to go fast. 410 or 456 will help but it's gonna detract from your ability to highway drive it. You could also look into stuff like drag suspension and driveline efficency like lighter flywheel and drive shaft. After that it's time for a power adder. I'm basically in the same boat.

Yeah I'm just trying to do the little things for now and when I have money one of these days to get a power adder it will all help that much more. As my car sits now I have eibach springs, steeda short throw and adjustable clutch quad, k&n cold air, superchips tuner, magnaflow exhaust from the headers back and now Manley h beam rods I'm reringing it while I have it apart. So hopefully when I do get the power adder one day I won't have to worry about the rods bending. But thanks for your help its much apretiated.

Do a better set of dished pistons if you're planning on serious boost. Also a full set of arp2000 bolts.

---------- Post added at 11:32 AM ---------- Previous post was at 11:32 AM ----------

Also. Your best mod would be a set of gears.

Got a update on my times. Added Airaid CAI, Bama 91 race tune, exedy stage 2 racing clutch and ran a best time of 13.6 @ 104mph. I now have better tires and 3.73 frpp rear gears. Hoping to run again in the up coming months when they open the tracks back up. Looking for low 13s

If you really want good times focus on the fundamentals... So really get your launch and shifting down. If I was you I would get some lower control arms and a short throw shifter to start.... Once you add power it will be harder to keep traction off the line, and a better 60' will give you better results than adding a ton of power.

12.4x with 1.6x 60'

N/A 3v, 302 rwph / 317 rwtq

- CAI / Steeda UDP's / FRPP shorty headers
- Strange single adj struts/shocks
- Cobra Jet springs
- Detroit Truetrac diff / 4.10 gears / LPW diff cover
- Metro UCA/UCA bracket and LCA's
- BMR relocation brackets
- M/T ET street bias ply rear tires on 17" OEM rims
- OEM stock shifter / clutch / 2pc drive shaft / intake manifold / cams / etc.

I'm still dialing in strut/shock/tire pressure settings. Plan to get a set of skinny front wheels/tires this winter and shed a bit of weight for the spring. Working on driver mod too (this was my first year of racing).

12.4x with 1.6x 60'

N/A 3V, 302 rwph

- K&N CAI / Steeda UDP's / FRPP shorty headers / 93 street tune
- front sway bar delete / Strange single adjustable struts, shocks / Cobra Jet springs
- Metco UCA, LCA / BMR relocation brackets / Comp Engineering adj panhard bar
- 4.10 gears / Detroit Truetrac diff / LPW diff cover
- 3660 lbs with driver

I think there's a bit more in it, I just need to experiment with strut/shock settings and tire pressure. Then I'll work on shedding weight and get some skinny front wheels/tires

DA for the 18OCT runs was around +200 feet
DA for the 08NOV runs was around -1300 feet

I wasn't able to completely capitalize on the negative DA in Nov, I was hoping to run better...

My MT82 2012 w/2.73 gears is mostly stock. No engine mods. Wheelhop was real bad at any rpm launch. Installed BMR lower traction bars. Got a 2.21 60' 14.41@98.64 shifting at 6500 crossing the stripe in 3rd gear. Changed rear to 3.55 got a 2.059 60' and ran very low 14s over 100. Now able to get into 4th gear. Not trying to kill it (7000+rpm) with stock driveshaft and stock tires. Starting line launch is very critical (3000+rpm). Aluminum driveshaft and drag radials needed. Could see 13.90s at a buck two plus. DA in Chicago is 600-2600. Having fun.
