2012 5.0 331 gears firs time at the track!

Tonight was my first night at a drag strip. And i was in my 2012 5.0 6 speed. I am running stock everything. My best run tonight was 13.153 at 109.37mph my second best was 13.169 at 111mph. I launch it everytime at 2k. But i still burn out way to Much in second. All in all it was lot of fun, om hooked now.

Race way was Royal Purple raceway. In baytown,tx
Any tips for me would be helpful thanks!

Nice! Look into some drag radials. That'll cut down your spin a lot.

What are you shifting at? The MPH is a couple ticks low and the 2.3 almost 2.3 60s are killing you. 13.0s with a 2.2 60 has much more left in it. Keep going until you nail a 12.8 or faster! Have fun.

Isn't that a little low for a 5.0? HP peaks around 6500. Seems to hold well until 6800 or so.

There is your low MPH

Agreed with borii, work on 60' times and shift from 6800-7000. High 12's are easily possible. I like that first pic btw

Dont rev up to 2k just start from idle and it will improve ur time. I have 3.73 and that is what i do not to burnout.

Well last Friday while i was on my way to the track, I some how hit a brick in the road and broke my back rim and tire. I was all hyped up to go with my new exhaust. but I got to drive a 2012 GT500 all night so it was all good.

Not bad at all. My first time at the strip with my 13 gt with3.73's and 6spd I cracked a 12.98@110. I launched at 4k and pretty much dumped it and cracked a 2.1 60ft. I dumped it because I was really hooking up good so slipping wasn't needed. I was on 19 summer tires

Bone stock. I only made 4 passes that night too. My first pass I decided to try to figure out where to launch it at. So on my first pass I luanched at 2500. That got me a 13.2. Then on my second pass I launched at 3000 and still a 13.2. So on my 3rd run I launched at 3500 and same 13.2. So I decided on my 4th run to launch at 4000 and dumped it and then cracked a 12.9.

No. It is not. (Not trying to sound rude, just motivate you to try again which is the best part). Care to see my videos of a 1.89 60' foot times in 40 degrees? I have all the slips and videos posted here.
