Smoked by a zo6 and camaro :(

Guys i just got smoked today by a z06

I have a
Bama tune
X pipe
Catback
Wider tires
Boss intake

How can i beat this zo6? Lol

I also raced a camaro and he said all he had was an intake yet i think i heard a whine and his exhaust was so loud. Anyways he pulled about 1 sec faster and the z06 2 secs.

I guess it looks like supercharge time?

Was this on the street or track? Bad form street racing and posting if it was. Also hard to gauge exactly how much they were ahead on the street. What gears are you running? What kind of wide tires? I have 285 on mine but they are road race tires. They suck for drag racing but great for cornering which is what I enjoy more.

Tires are part of the problem. Drag radials would do better. The Camaro getting into 11s? He definitely has more than just an intake.

Those zo6's are light too. Those ls motors make power, I have a buddy that has a 01 t/a he has a intake, headers, gears, & a 150 wet shot running 11.1 in a 1/4. & no way that guy has "just" an intake. Cause now my friend put heads & cam & running 11.8 all motor.

As far as bolt ons you're pretty much maxed except LT's. Is the tune a 93 tune? Also what are your times you're running at the track, your mods should be able to get you high 11's depending on DA. Sounds to me like you need to work on launching, if I remember you're running 3.73's already? Also look into slicks/skinnies and suspension parts (uca's, lca's, springs, dampers) last resort is FI, or maybe your next move should be FI lol. Anyways, work on your own skills first. And a Camaro in the 11's is lying a out mods

Takes more than a supercharger to beat a z06 vette! They have ran in the 10s bone stock, no mustang does this with a simple bolt on blower.

Hp means little when talking about a vette vs mustang comparison. They are light have long gears and put the power down very well plus the areo advantage. Even 600rwhp mustangs can't run what a z06 can stock.

Re: Smoked by a zo6 and camaro :(

For what it is worth only a FEW Z06s have gone 10s stock. They CAN but not easy OR as common as anyone thinks.

Also, a ZL1 would knock 11s out with an intake with a mediocre driver in the Camaro, so maybe he had a Zl1?
