Mustang GT vs Camaro SS video

This was my fourth time running with him last night. He has several mods and I'm bone stock

I don't remember what our times were for this run and you can't see them in the video, but he was running high 13s/low 14s and I was running low 13s every time.

Good job. Go back when it is cold. Camaros are fast but just like any car, they need fast drivers

I can't wait for it to cool off, I'll be in the 12s easy. This track is having an event in the end of October for late-model muscle cars. The SS will be there.

Why? Auto 5.0s have run 12.8s and 12.9s repeatedly. Cooler temperature with lesser humidity is good for 3-6 tenths EASILY. Proven. Scientifically and otherwise.

All things being equal, she WILL be in the 12s.

I ran a 13.07 last week in 85 degrees and 90% humidity. Pretty sure I can get into the 12s haha.

13.7 was my first run EVER

Jesus man, I have no idea where I THOUGHT she got a 13.0

You're correct, she will not see 12s. She may see a mid 13 to a 13.4 at best.

All she needs is a tune.

I'm in mid 12's with tune (Bana 93r and CAI/X pipe/AB) with near 100 ambient temp with 85 % humidity.

Running STREET tires. (pilot super sports).

AUTO.

Haha what?? How am I going to get a 13.4 at best when I've already been running low 13s in bad heat?

Yes so you will get in the 12s I'm no time. The mustang is a 12 second car as a guy on the mustang source had videos of a manual he runs stock in the mid 12s. When u start to play with mods a stall converter will knock down ur times and going with drag radials or fats and shinnies. Your car us fast and your 60 times are settling in where you want them. The cooler temperature will help but not necessary for you to run 12s. Keep beating that ss. It has to make u smile every time I swear

When you can afford to, get you some lightweight wheels and some drag radials and skinnies for the front. Reducing your rotational mass helps considerably.

I definitely want to, I'm looking at 19" matte black Forgestar F14s. I think they're 26lbs.

Those are nice wheels, but not quite what I was thinking about.
You may not like these, but they are what I meant by lightweight wheels.

Link > Billet Specialties - Street Lite Race Wheels
Front - 15x6 - 12.8 lbs. x 2 = 25.6 lbs.
Rear - 15x10 - 16.2 lbs. x 2 = 32.4 lbs.
--------------------------------- 58.0 lbs. Total
26 lbs. x 4 = 104.0 lbs.

Nah, I don't like those haha. I'm not serious enough about tracking the car to get super lightweight wheels that I don't like.

That is the same boat I am in. I don't want to sacrifice a 100% driven in vehicle for a few more tenths that I know are already in there.

I actually went from stock to bigger and wider.

Mandy, you can still get mid 12's on street tires and rims. 255/35 R20s on 32lb wheels. The tune is the key. And the bama 93 race tune is very streetable for a DD auto!

Yeah, I'm actually on 235s. I'm planning on slowly upgrading every piece of the car until I have a super badass street car that does well at the track when I take it every once in a while. It's not my DD.

But I don't want it to look like a racecar, haha

I totally get this. Seriously. You should check out my thread on s197 forum where it is '12s on street tires', of course your car is faster in general in stock form but you can see my progression while keeping it 100% street.
