What will my 05 gt run in the quarter mile??

ok i just bought my 05 gt 5 speed bone stock and i am going to the track in October and would like an idea of what ill run...all it has done to it is a 93 octane tune ill be on stock 17 inch tires good tread.....i have seen anywhere from 13.3 to 14.0...and i am not trying to be confident or cocky but i can drive very good...and what rpm would be a good launch point to avoid wheel hop/wheel spin but not fall on my face? thanks for the tips everyone

I would be very shocked if you can run a 13.3 with a stock 05 GT and tune. What gears do you currently have ? I would think you could do 14 flat or maybe 13.9. I would think in order to run low 13's you night need a few more minor mods, a perfect launch and no missed gear shifts. Lol.

That's nice the 3.55's. I think your gonna need 4.10 gears to get in lower 13's given the current HP and torque the 05 GT has. A cold air intake will help with some HP and torque. If your stang is not a track car only then 4.10's is not a good option in my opinion. I'm not a stick fan for track 1/4 mile racing. To much on human error for the exact perfect shifts.

True that, 4.10's for highway driving is not good. What is your goal on 1/4 mile time your looking to achieve?

Well, no offense but cocky is exactly what you sound. Unless you have already run your car you can not possibly know if you are a good driver. You could have been better than other drivers outside the track, but that could just mean they are that much worse. No track time, no real determination.

In cool air you can see mid to semi low 13s such as 13.3xx to 13.4xx or slower. In hot weather, you may not get faster than 13.8.

This is all with an assumed great launch. All runs feel fast until a time sleep hurts your feelings. I would say you make a run, see what it is and improve from there. what kind of wheels and tires are you running? If stock then Aim for a 2.0 60' which should nail you your mid 13s in September weather.

Well I have been to the track mulitiple times and raced countless times and I have a great feel for the car so again no cockiness was intended I was just stating that the driving wasnt going to be the issue but this car is stock down to the tires 235 17 inch pirellis. Only mod is its tuned I was honestly guessing around 13.7's

Ok, but what were your times already? You get what I am saying? Having a 'feel' doesn't mean you can drive it.

If you REALLY are a 'good driver' you should have nailed a 13.6 or 13.7 BEFORE The tune. If you are a somewhat good river. maybe a 13.8-14.0.

What were your 60' foots? Trap speeds? What track did you run at?

These things will all help or hurt your time.

The best part is trying I find I drive best under pressure, when someone next to me wants to race. Find a friendly rival

Sounds cool. You will need at LEAST a 2.0 to see 13.7. Air has been ok lately, in our favor.
