Yes you are old enough.

As long as you can drive I don't think there even is an age limit. As long as you are only driving on a track in the sanctioned event....

There is a 14 year old that autocrosses in a go cart at the events I attend.

What size tires and rims are you running ? New to the sport and I've got upgraded everything except tires for this type event any info is greatly appreciated

On my cobra I will be running super car tires 285-18. It's mostly stock just intake exhaust and lowering springs. On my gt I ran 305 Hoosier dr's which were great and most likely be looking at Hoosiers or Pirelli in the future.

Tires are probably the single most important thing when Autocrossing. I just went from stock 17x8's w/ 245/45r17's to 18x9 & 18x10's w/ 275 & 285/35r18's, which should help make me more competitive in our class(ESP). Hopefully I can shave a couple seconds off last years times, then I'll be right there with the fastest 400+ HP Camaros and 5.0 mustangs in our region(none of which are nationally competitive SCCA cars).

I run autocross out here in Vegas. Car is set up for F-Stock (FS) currently and bullitt is correct, tires are one of the most important things you can improve. With the newer Mustangs the next most important thing is reducing the horrible body roll characteristics and understeer.

Depending on what class you want to run in will dictate a lot of the mods that you can make before bumping to another class.

I use to live in Panama City until recently, and would always go to the Wiregrass Region and Dixie Region SCCA auto-x solo events. They're well worth the drive up there. The Wiregrass region, which is having an event this Sunday, is probably the closest SCCA event to you. It was my favorite of the two. Here's a link to their site and a link to a video from last month's auto-x.

Wiregrass SCCA
