It won't be landslide, but I think you will win, it's really going to be up to the driver.
* odds are he isn't that experienced if this is his first Mustang. When you go to the track post up your slips so we can see.

I think you can take him, you have loads more torque, and youve got good bolt ons for a good time!

They don't torque hard enough. You should snatch him off the line and ride it out from there. I know my car is faster than new v6 Mustangs and Camaros and I don't have pulleys or a tune.

Remember that you have more torque than him. And you are a lot lighter. You have 3.73/ which will help a lot. The 2.73s they come with really hold them back

I can beat dad's 07 GT and it has a shaker, tune, headers, minor motor mods, etc. He probably pushes 350, but he has 3.55s. I have 4.10s, full exhaust, CAI, race springs, and an MGW. It's always a close race, but I usually squeak ahead at the top of 3rd.
I think you'll be fine. it's all on the gearing for dad and me, and it should be for you too.

You will take him..

I had a friend who had one and he was running mid 14s-high 14s ( it's was auto )
Don't get me wrong they have more HP than a 99-04 Gt but they are heavy

I have a buddy who has one with Longtubes/x pipe/CAI/ short throw/Tune and he runs side by side in my Mach 1
Be careful

With your mods, if you can out launch him, you should be good. Vids and slips

I have a 2013 v6 and with the 273 gears, intake, and axlebacks, i ran a 13.7. It'll really depend on who gets out better and how good you two go through the gears.

With what you have done to your car it should not even be close.

Nitrous shot yes, without the nitrous shot, they're at similar if not same power levels.

All I have done to mine is cai and o/r x pipe and I stayed with a 73 with a 351clevland in it. And I don't have any problem with the newer v6's they have more HP but not the torque that we have.

20 lbs shy, but 45 HP jump. After the launch, HP will take over.

Also, classic muscle cars were NOT fast. They tend to be now since they're usually modified when racing.

What you may have done to a V6 on or off the track is independent of the fact that a 2V 4.6 with shorties, intake/tune and x pipe will be in the V6 category if both are driven properly. Advantage to the GT but not much. A GT with those mods would run in the realm of mid 13s with their torque advantage. The current V6s run 13.7s and 13.8s. Easily in the realm of possibility for the V6 to win. It is DEFINITELY close. The sixxer also has the 6 speed which is advantageous on top end

Well I guess I have just been lucky that i have not had any problems with them. With his add ons and 373 gear he should have no problem in the quarter even with out the nitrous.

They run similar times. Why doesn't that sink in? lol. If both drivers are perfect drivers and launch at the exact same time to the hundredth of a second, the race should be decided by .2 or .3 tenths at best with the higher trap speed going to the V6 as it would pull away most likely up top.

Either way, we need videos OP!!

Ok let's say you are correct about the hp being the same after the bolt ons that he has. I think he may have a little more than the v6 with all his mods. But for your sake we will say they are the same. Two cars with the same hp one with 273 gears and one with 373 gears the one with the lower gear is going to be faster through the 1/8 and 1/4 mile. Now if you are on open road the lower gear will be better, but not on the track.
Like I said before I DON'T have all his mods and I don't have ant problems with the v6 cars. Looks like several others on this forum don't either. Just saying lol.
