Is this a decent time for a 14 GT with JLT CAI, sct tune, flowmaster axle back and resonators deleted? Car was tuned and work done at Fastlane in Benson NC

Not too bad at all! I bet you could get it down a few fractions. 12.2. Weird that rt is 0, but your 60 pull is a little high. Great run though. What were you putting down that day? Pretty consistent or intermittently on target?

That was my 1st and only run I did so far, just got the car 2 weeks ago and had all the mods done this morning. I'm just getting into mustangs, always had 60's Chevys but I've seen the light.

Nothing wrong with 60's Chevies. What were you running? Impalas, chevelles , camaros etc?

Alright it's time to bump an old thread. I'll be heading back to the strip in two weeks to continue and try to hit 14s.

Over the winter I installed some 4.10 gears so the new mod list should be:
24l b injectors
Trick Flow intake plenum
Bama race tune
K&N CAI
Bassani O/R X
Magnaflow SS catback
Exedy stage 1 clutch
Ford Racing Billet steel flywheel
03 Cobra IRS with cut springs
Tokico D-Spec struts and Bilstein shocks
MM FLSFCs
Billetflow IRS brace
Steeda Tri-Ax
Ford Racing 4.10s
17x9 and 17X10.5 wheels with Hankook Venus RS-3s up front and Nitto NT05s in back.

Car weighs 3,390lbs with a quarter tank of gas, no spare tire, and without me. It weighs 3540 with me in it.

Yup, skinny white guy FTW! I'm pretty excited to see how the 4.10s will do. This year I really need to focus on my launch

Probably not, this trip I'm mostly gonna be giving rides to some friends who've never been before. I'll try to make a solo pass on my last run of the night though.

Really? I consistently run a half second slower with a passenger. The sad thing for me is I ran my fastest time when the car was stock.

They're definitely gonna happen this year! If I have to gut the interior then I will do that .... but this trip is just to give some friends a safe ride while letting me see what traction will be like with the new gears.

You're still trying to run in the 14s?

Elevation is the biggest reason. The track is right around 5300' if not more so that really kills my times. A good example is Terminators and new GTs are running high 13s to low 14s stock. From what I've seen at test and tune nights I've got one of the faster bolt on 99-04 GTs sadly.

Have you played with the tire pressure at all? I know a lot of guys will dump it way down, but I've actually had better times at higher pressures, above 30PSI. I find it gets the 60' down and I've run quicker times at slower speeds going this route.

Not really, I usually leave it around 36 psi or so. Some days I'll drop it down to 30, but rarely any lower. Most of my problems come from my launch, I'm not very good at it unfortunately.

Are you launching manual or auto? I'm manual, and I find I just have to get the revs right and dump the clutch.

Manual. Part of it is that I need a driver mod. I'm more of a road course guy and that's what the car is mostly set up for. I've just been dumping the clutch right at 3K rpms and usually I either bog or spin. This time around I wanna do a light burnout and see if I can slip the clutch a bit to get a smoother launch.

I have started playing around with the best launch RPM on mine as well. Start at 3k, then 3.5k then 4k, until you start getting slip. Slipping the clutch isn't a bad idea. I may have to try the the next time I go out.

What are your 60' times?

2.3-2.5 usually. The few times I've tried going higher than 3K I spin hard and get some bad wheel hop
