Yeah I'm not gonna be buying any DRs any time soon, the car is more of a corner carver than a drag car and I really don't wanna snap a halfshaft.

It's all good man. The big issue with the IRS is that the stock rubber bushings deflect a lot causing wheel hop. If you build it then it could launch fine, but building a SRA is much easier and saves weight anyways

I was shocked when lowflyn said that there was a 320 pound weight savings when he swapped the IRS for a SRA...

Yea the IRS is heavy. But then when you put all the suspension work into the SRA it's still pretty heavy.

Well the track day may have to be postponed depending how the weather ulis. There's a 50% chance of rain during the day with it decreasing as the day goes on. I'll be prepping the car either way just in case and plan on heading over to see if they try to open the track up or not. I'll be honest that I'm hoping the weather scares off some people so that I can get more runs in.

Well I'm here and there isn't a drop of rain in sight. First run was a 15.6 at 92 mph. Had a 2.2 60' but missed second gear. 14s are definitely possible

Well I didn't hit 14s but I feel like I accomplished something today. I consistently ran 15.1s on a 2.3 60', the one halfway decent 60' I had I botched up unforrunately, but I definitely think 14s are possible. The car was as "full weoght" as my passes will ever get. I weighed in at 3,635 lbs with me in it. That's including a subwoofer, spare tire and jack, and a half tank of gas. I didn't check to see what the DA was, but I discovered that the track is actually at 5800 ft. High and not the 5300 I was originally thinking. Strangely enough I still have the fastest bolt on new edge from what I've seen so far.

Holy cow!
Yep. The altitude is killing your times. And anything higher than 59 degrees Fahrenheit pushes the DA up from there. You know, it would be interesting to find out which dragstrip in the United States is located at the highest altitude. Surely, the one that you're running at must be at the top of the list.
Well, you're close anyway.
How did the new gears feel?
It looks like the barrier to 14's is in the 60'...

And what in the hell ran a 12 at that altitude?!??

Please tell me that it wasn't the blue Toyota Camry that you were parked next to in the picture...

Yeah it's definitely locked away in the 60'. Utah may have a higher strip but I don't know for sure. The gears were great, I'm crossing the traps somewhere between 4500 and 5000 rpm in 4th so it's definitely helped the power band.

That one was a 69ish Camaro on some drag radials. The thing was loud as hell. There was an 06 WRX STI running 12s though. Typical big turbo Subaru that couldn't launch for ****

That one was buddies factory freak WRX. With an STI turbo swap and intercooler it put down 298whp when most STI swapped WRXs put down in the 260 range. He managed to rip off a 13.9 pass

Nice man thats crazy lol.

You seem content with your runs (as you should be considering the 60' and altitude). 👍

Haha I've just resigned to the fact that 14s will be a slow process

100.19 mph

Street tires, untuned, 6350' above sea level was the DA and it was 89F when I made that pass. Oh well, got something to work with lol

Wasn't really thinking :/ every pass i made i was crossing in 3rd at about 6400rpm and that pass i shifted into 4th at 5900-6k. Kick myself for that. Not to mention every run i had my 150lbs brother with me and a 3.5 ton jack in the trunk along with some tools

I just wanted to get the jitters out and get some seat time. Next time around i won't have anything with me or anyone to see what I'm starting at. I need a tune and need to mess around with some tire pressure and rpm to launch at. A ways to go to be where I wanna lol. My brothers 05 with an o/r x axle back 4.10 and bama tune on the et streets hit a 14.1 at the same DA. Got locked out of 4th though and had me riding along lol. Over all we are satisfied. Can't wait to hit some passes in Houston and see what we can pull.

You've got IRS right? That is some heavy ish lol..

That'll be cool to see! Houston is at a lower altitude right?

Yeah I've got an IRS. The only reason I haven't picked up some drag radials is because I don't want to snap a half shaft since I still have the stock bushings.

Ah ic, you can still cut a decent 60' with street tires

That'll be awesome to see the difference in times at a lower altitude.

My biggest issue right now is just inexperience at launching my car. I can shift fairly well once I get going. It's just gonna take some time for me to figure out what I'm doing and what I need to do to knock a couple tenths of my 60'

Yeah im anxious to see the difference.

Ah same here man, i spin or i bog. Haven't found the happy place yet. But then again that was my first time going in the mach. The 2.0 wasn't too bad i suppose but I know it could cut a better 60' with those ET streets. Just takes practice and trial and error i suppose.

If you're spinning ET streets in 2nd, they're most likely not warm enough or if they are, the actual temp was low?

It was about 87ish when I made my passes and they were warm (idk if they were warm enough though) but track prep wasnt the greatest either. Idk, first time on them and first time to take the Mach. Hopefully next time i can cut a better 60' and actually get into the 13s lol
