'13 5.0 vs '12 Nismo 370z

Stock for stock who should win win even drivers? My buddy just got a Nismo 370z and wants to run them. I have a steeda 101m intake, short throw shifter, bama 91 race tune, and soon to be a boss manifold.

Thanks!

Youll probably beat him in a straight line but the 370z is a light, and grippy car. You have to watch your launch because the Z has great traction control. Its a good thing you guys are drag racing, because in a road course he would win.

Its a straight line race. Possibly from a 25 roll so i can have a chance to get traction. As far as i know, he just has an intake, exhaust, and some race tune. Are those 3.7's really that fast compared to the 5.0? I mean i have tons of respect for Import muscle, but it makes like 350 hp stock and weighs what? Like 300lbs less? The 5.0 makes way more than enough more power to make up for that weight difference right? We have virtually the same mods. In a straight line, i just think the 5.0 would take the win easily..? The 2010 Gt with a 4.6 gave the 370z a good run in a straight line, its on youtube.

Nah, they dont have the greatest straight line speed but theyre overall a better sports car in terms of handling/power mix. If the mustangs had IRS and a goood suspension and a lower center of gravity(lowered engine as well), with the power they have now, theyd be the undisputed sports car champion. The main thing holding the Mustang back is that damn IRS in terms of track status.

With your current mods, you shouldn't have an issue beating a bolt on 370Z. Don't underestimate the 07+ 350z and any 370z though, they definitely rip! Let us know how it goes at the track.
