2001 Mustang v6 Vs Chrysler Sebring LXI

Me and my friend raced and he has a 2001 Chrystler sebring lxi stick shift. He has 200 hp an 205 tq all mods is a cold air intake. I have a 2001 auto mustang v6 with about 200 hp an 225 tq i have divorced true duals flowmasters and a cold air intake. Me and him raced and he always beats me by a car length. I have a cracked header and a loose transmission mount. How is he beating me if We weigh about the same mines only like 80 lbs lighter but my trunk is full of my old intake which weighs nothing an 2 12 in subs. I thought id be able to beat him but i lose. Were tie till around 40-45 mph then he starts pulling. Any advice? Please. Im replacing my headers soon with pacesetter shorty headers because long tubes is to much work. And im adding 4.10 gears and a 93 octane race tune. Would I at least be able to beat him after all mods?

Empty the trunk to be lighter, and after those mods you should be able to easy. And hopefully this is at the strip...

I've raced my friends seabring and he gets me by about a car too, on the track with street tires as well. But with those mods I bet you'll get him by a car, mostly because of the gears/tune!

Stock they came with 210hp which is already more than a v6. Bigger heads and I'm assuming supporting mods and he will get you.

if your asking my opinion I would pass and save for another mustang. if you want a new faster car sell yours and get another mustang (the 3.7 or any GT) you'd beat him with just a tune. I've neer been a big fan of Chrysler but that's just me. 163,000 is too much also for me

You Will beat him without any mods work on your start off not tire spin take a little air out of the tire for a bit more traction and take the crap out of your trunk and have less than 1/4 take of fuel Wance you start pullingfrim him on the take off he will not catch up

$3800 is kinda high IMHO but it will be significantly faster I think.

The 97 4.6 had like 220 compared to the 190 from the v6. But has more torque.

Yeah..only saving grace of a non PI 4.6 is when you do a PI swap...due to compression difference it'll outrun a new edge with same mods.

+1. I would offer him $3300, and then I would do a p.i swap and gears
