yes you'll beat him as long as you don't screw up. my '04 GT has run a few at the track and they can keep on the rear bumper but that's about it without more then just a few bolt ons. an s197 will have no issue.

Even if you mess up the launch you should pull pretty hard on it and win.

No doubt!! The only thing good about the F20-22C is its redline of 8000-8800rpms. They only have about 160 lbs-ft torque. But with that "crotch-rocket" like redline and lighter chassis, it will be a good race. Get him off the line and you should do pretty well.

It's going to be a drivers race despite the big hp advantage of the gto. Unless hes not stock. Good luck!

The GTO's are pretty heavy and have super slim tires
If you can nail the launch you should be fine

My dad had an 06 GTO, and it was definitely faster that the 06 Mustang GT he had before then.

Power to weight ratio is ALWAYS a big factor. The S197's are
pretty light vs even a camaro especially a challenger or a GTO
that's a HUGE plus ford built them right .

Chevy needs 550 hp to reach 12s
Ford does it with 440

Yes it's faster, but not quicker. 1/4 mile is a drivers race stock for stock, anything past that the gto will pull hard.

A good race is VS a Charger RT. Not a brand new one. 08 or later. I raced a buddy of mine in his. He has an 07 Daytona Edition. Beat him by half a car length.

Damn Right! There is a video of a 2012 Boss Laguna Seca(444hp) VS a 2012 Camaro ZL1(580hp). Camaro's track time was only 2 seconds better than the Mustangs.

I love how they compared the zl1 to a boss.....
It seemed a little unfair, power wise

Absolutely! The people who made the video are clearly Camaro lovers. But they made a video of the ZL1 VS the new GT 500. The only good thing they said about the ZL1 is that's its braking is a little better than the Shelby.
