Mitsubishi evolution

Hey guys,

I was just wondering, can our v6 stang take on a Evo in a straight line? I had a run with an Evo from 60km/h all the way to my limiter and I was ahead the whole time since I started a bit earlier than him but I felt he was very very slightly gaining on me till I hit my limiter at 190 and lost the race is an Evo quicker than a v6 stang stock for stock? If so, I guess a cai and tuner would make me win next time.

Yeah I'd say the new ones are quicker stock for stock. They have about the same HP as the V6 but a bit more torque and AWD. Would be a close race though from a roll.

From a 50 Mph (80 Kmh) + roll, it might be close. From a dig, they should get a huge jump on a 3.7 Mustang, with the Mustang reeling the Evo X in after about 80 Mph. After 105 Mph, it should be all Mustang. Assuming the Evo is stock. They are solid mid-13 second cars.

The Evo, WRX and STi are wicked fast out of the hole to around 80 Mph, after that they kinda fall on their face. I have personally seen a supposedly "bone stock" 5spd 09 Evo X GSR run a 12.9 with a hell of a driver. I think it had at least a tune, but he claims it was 100% stock. His trap speed was slow, I think it was 104 or 106 Mph.

My ex had an older Evo IX MR with an intake and bolt-on air filter and it would put a hurt on newer GTO's (LS1 and LS2), non Z06 C5 Vettes, F-body's, Mustang GT's and I even got to put a beat down on a Termi Cobra from a dig to 100 Mph (Cobra needed a decent driver). Given the Evo X uses a different engine than the previous Evo's, with just a few mods, they (all Evo's) can be very quick.

Ya those evos are crazy quick. But I think my v6 did good as we had a roll start. I would say our v6s are quicker from a roll.

Not if they brake boost stock for stock. After 100 you will reel them in though.

I raced a slightly modded EVO with my stock 2011 mustang 5.0 3:31 gears manual and had no problem beating him. Had a pull with one after the drag strip at 60mph and my win was even better.

This is simple from a dig your 6er will get it's butt handed to it. From roll where the AWD has no advantage and looking at the power to weight the V6 should win, but it will be close. In a roll the car with the better power to weight ratio should win. The new EVO's have a power to weight of 12.09, your V6 is 11.32. It is only .77 pounds per hp difference so from what you explained sounds right you edged him out till the limiter slowed you down.

Limiter at 190?! You guys are crazy in those v6's. I've raced a few people myself in my 5.0, but never got close to the limiter.

That's still a super high trap speed "for the track" in a v6. Because we don't race illegally around here
