Ice bag for 1/4 mile

Would putting a bag of ice over the intake manifold between runs help cooling and performance?

Minutely. What car do you have? The only way to see any gains is if you have a metal intake.

^ This, but only if you push the car to the lights. Having the car idle and doing a burnout will negate any difference a bag of ice on the intake would have made.

Yes.. Especially for metal intakes and supercharges but it can help cool the engine down faster and fans do to. if you ran with your temp gauge on cool rather than the middle you would run faster times.
