Beat you in what? Road course or 1/4 mile run? What gearing do you have with your GT?

From the factory they are both rated around the same 0-60 and 1/4 mile, so its probably a drivers race (straight line)... In the corners it will kill you.

Tell your buddy he better get more than a tune on his Z to get revenge. He gonna need a turbo kit to beat you. The tune isn't gonna produce that much rwhp and rwtq to overtake your 420 HP, 390 torque , 3:31 geared 5.0 monster. Matter a fact. I would put money my 11 V6 that makes 297 rwhp, 3:73 gears and aluminum driveshaft would beat your buddies tuned Z.

Tell your buddy he needs to boost that bowl of uncle bens to get revenge. Lmao

Stock 370s run what 13.3 in the 1/4mile. A tune isn't going to drop off a half a second.

A stock 370z is rated at a 4.6s 0-60 and a 13.0 1/4 mile.

If you beat him badly when he was stock he will need more than a tune to beat you... Sounds like a driver error on his part.

No matter how aggressive the tune right? This is my first sports car so I'm new to 1/4 mile times and how to improve them. Lol

Really? I thought I had read somewhere that by the time a Z hits his 0-60 I should be doing 100.

Well you have a lot more horsepower, so if you can hook pretty well, and shed a some weight off the car that very well is possible... But you will need 3.73s for that.

I'm ok at hooking. Still learning lol. But the other guy is horrible at launching so not intimidated by a quick launch on his part

370 Z's are good for high 4 second 0-60 and low 13's at about 107.

As for a tune making any difference, a full exhaust, CAI and tune on the 350 Z made about 20whp difference, so basically nothing. I think the 370's are the same.

Actually, according to a quick interwebs search, a tune on an otherwise stock 370Z only has peak gains of about 7whp and 10wtq. With full exhaust, cai and tune they are only gaining 15whp and 8wtq.

The cars stock are averaging about 280whp/240wtq with the 6spd. More of a match for a 3.7 Mustang than a GT.

That said, you should have this one quite easily. Enjoy your free months car payment.

Exactly, more for my 3.7 to take on. I am running 297 rwhp and 276 rwtq along with my 3:73 gears and one piece aluminum driveshaft. I could take uncle Bens 370Z so my man with the 5.0 will make chop suey of uncle Bens ricer. Although I do think the 370z is a nice looking car and will out corner the mustang any day of the week and twice on the day of the rat. Straight line 1/4 mile, 5.0 will take the win and send ricer boy back to school. Perhaps the Z can have a huge 4 foot wing installed on it which should add a good 50 rwhp.

I'm not a huge import fan but the 370z is by no means a ricer.

+1. I like the way they look actually. But I like a huge majority of cars. In there own way......soooooo has this race taken place yet. I need a car payment paid also if he wants to race me next. Hell. Without a car payment I could have a choice if which mod on my list I want to get. Maybe 2.

I'm just being a wise guy. Ba ha ha ha. Actually, the 370z is a very nice car. Looks good and has nice lines. Really, the 370 z and the mustang are two different types of performance cars.

I really wanted one! The only reason I got my mustang is because I got a really good deal. The 370 I wanted was a lot cheaper than the similarly equipped gt I wanted. Had I not stopped at ford just to see what the 2014's were going for, I would've bought a 2013 370z. Glad I didn't though. I heard they are a nightmare for overheating issues. The block essentially a bored out 350z engine, but they didn't make up for it by enlarging the cooling ducts etc, so it runs hot. I think they finally introduced a better radiator and cooling system , but it's something you always have to keep an eye one.

I'm not a huge fan of the 370z, i like the 350z better. Specifically the 350Z Nismo, thats a pretty cool car.
