High School Nationals

In spring at Norwalks Summit Raceway they have an event called highschool nationals where high schoolers drag race. So I'm thinking about going. Hopefully by then I can have gears, tune, LCAs, subframes, and drag radials. Plus some weight reduction. I'm really hoping to run low 13's or even high 12's. Anything else I'm missing that would help? Kinda was thinking about piecing together a vortech kit too if the money's right but F/I seems kinda intimidating.

What are you're current mods and what mods will you most likely have done by the time the event comes around? Auto or manual?

So far I haven't done anything. And the guy before me did a CAI. Under drive pulleys. O/R And mufflers. I figured ill most likely do gears and time first considering they're the best bang for buck. I'm hoping to get at least all of what I said in the original post done by then besides the supercharger unless somehow the money is good and I can.

When I went to the high school nationals it was 1/8 mile bracket racing. To give everyone a fair chance and not just who has the biggest wallet.

One of my friends ended up winning in his Dodge Ram SS/T, he won a snap-on toolset and a $500 scholarship to college.

With you're current mods you might be into the low 15's high 14's. Get some gears, arms, lowering sprigs, tune and weight reduction and maybe you can get into the 13's

A 2000GT? He should be low 14s if he is an ok driver, I never touched a 15 second 1/4 mile and that was including missed shifts and a 2.3+ 60'

Same here! I ran 14.6-14.2 all day when I was stock on street tires. I got I to mid 13's with stage two cams, headers, exhaust, intake, tune and street tires. High twelves is really hopefully. You'd need a supercharger, or full bolt ons , a set of slicks and a lot of practice.

I know Venemouz got to very low 13s in his GT auto with full bolt ons and DRs, someone else was able to touch 12s full bolt ons and DRs with a 5 speed.

715ft I believe. I'm really just hoping to get mid 13s at least. 12's was like a best case scenario. What all do I need to do besides upgrade the fuel system and the mods I stated above to run a vortech at low boost?

Well I would assume 15's if it's his very first time and has only like intake and throttle body as he stated. Tires suspension and other mods will get him in the low 14's. Get some weight reduction and full bolt ons and you can get in the 13's
