92 Fox vs 04 New Edge

Got a line on a race between some good friends later in January at our local track. Both of us are familiar with each other's car and curious as to who's faster and what we will run.

His setup-
92 5.0gt, full exhaust with shorties, 3.73, gt40 heads/intake and b303 cam. Tires are drag radials nt555 and manual trans

Mine-
04 gt, automatic trans, full exhaust with long tubes, 4.10s, CAI, Tb and plenum, steeda pullies, Bama tune and car will run on v6 fronts and slicks on the back and rear seat removed.

Any thoughts from guys with similar setups?

If you had a stall , and J mod
I'd have my money on you

Considering the foxbody is lighter, and if he can drive .. I'd say the foxbody

New edge are just too heavy,
and you have no suspension work..

I say tight race.. I'm thinkin as long as the fox hooks good and he's a decent driver the fox will take it..

Isn't this a repost?

Agreed with slow, good stall and the j-mod (although the J-mod for the 75w pretty much just is removing the springs and that's it) and I'd bet on yours. As it stands probably the Fox unless the driver sucks.

I'd put money on the new edge..
That fox is a 13.6 or higher car.
4.10 and slicks on the edge, he will EDGE him out. <----- see what I did there? Boom! Internet gold!

13.6 with a GT40 setup, cammed with bolt ons and DRs with the fox? Lol, I've seen stock longblock SN95 5.0 Cobras go faster than that on street tires with really good drivers. If he's a terrible driver he'll do that time, if he's good it'll be in the 12s.

The edge with bolt ons, suspension and a j-modded trans will do 12.5s all day but his doesn't have that.

^^^HAHAHAHAHA!!!! Dude you are SOOOOOO FAR OFF!!!

---------- Post added at 04:15 PM ---------- Previous post was at 04:13 PM ----------

FYI, I have a full bolt on 97 cobra with 4.30 gears and head work, drag radial tires. Been driving a mustang for YEARS. Best 1/4 mile time is a 12.7.
You run at the track at all? I bet you have a gt with full exhaust that runs 11's right?

Uh, yeah. Don't run the blue car, ran a 13.2 prior to the HCI and a 12.8 after on street tires/stock suspenson with the 95. Had way more in it with suspension, buddy of mine was running a 12.8 with suspension/bolt ons/e-cam in his 94 Cobra. My 91 did a 13.3 with just bolt ons and the E7 heads with some suspension. Have not been in years since the kid was born.

And again, lol @12.7 in a 4V with DRs and 4.30s.

I agree with Scotty, that 4v with those mods should see a full second quicker 1/4 mile time.

Lol yeah and I'm the one who's never been to the track.

And to all the ppl asking yes, a nickname for ppl from Massachusetts is "masshole". Although in his case it probably should be "masstroll".

Let me teleport back to 2003 and get it for you. It was a 95 Cobra BTW if you'd read sigs and it had every bolt on, gears a9l etc... to be totally honest I do t have to prove a damn thing. I don't have a b beaded cobra but I've been out enough to know they are a high 11 car all motor and the right setup and a driver that does not suck.

And there is a big difference between a 13.2 and a 13 flat at any rate... /troll
