I'm assuming were talking about the drag strip correct? If so then the charger would win even though its 825 pounds heavier...

You might be surprised, I saw a thread awhile back where the V6 beat a RT in the quarter.
Just don't bet on the race.

If you are curious about what cars could beat others on a zero to sixty run in stock form, I found this web site:

http://www.zeroto60times.com

It lists nearly any car you can think of.

Sorry ... should have continued in same post...

For 0-60:

It lists 2011 Mustang V6 at 5.3 sec
It lists 2011 Charger R/T at 5.2 sec

Not much difference but looks like the Dodge edges out our pony.

How about, if the OP is interested in racing a mustang he should have bought a V8?

I'm just going to step in now and say, cut the V6 pansy crap. I shouldn't even have to say this.

Ain't nothing wrong with a v6. Just don't try to make it something its not. It could be the perfect car for someone else

OP is just interested in wondering if his car will beat the other in a race. Everyone buys their cars for different things, doesn't mean you can't be interested in racing it while you have it.

Stock for stock it would be a close race especially if the mustang had 3:31 gears. The Charger has more power but weighs so much more than the mustang. We drive 2013 Dodge Chargers at my work and my modded 11 V6 will smoke it but mine is far from stock. Lol

There is some guys on instagram that have run mid 13s in their v6s. My old new edge would beat chargers so I think the new v6s would have no problem

I'm pushing 300 rwhp, 297 rwhp to be exact. I have no doubt my car could run 1/4 mile under 13.5 seconds. Lol.

Black on boss has 400 HP and was only running 12.9s. Its not as easy as you think if you have never been. And the yellow car above has a turbo on it....

Heck, AM ran an 11 V6 with a 87 tune and ran 13.7 on factory tires and 2:73 gears.
I would think me having 91 MPT tune, CAI, one piece aluminum driveshaft, 3:73 gears, BBK ceramic long tube headers and off road X pipe, Flowmaster axle backs would pick up more than just .2 tenths second off from 13.7.

Heck, just the one piece aluminium driveshaft can pick up .2 tenths second off time from the less rotational mass. Running 13.1 is totally realistic and easily done with mods like mine. Lol.

I'm not trying to be a jerk but its not easily done. I've seen some 5.0s go high 11s and if it was so easy all of them could do it. Most go mid to high 12s

Well I see what your saying especially not easy with a manual because someone has to be perfect. My automatic is nail it and go. Perfect shifts every time and easily run 13 to 13.3 every time.

ET-MPH-HP Calculator

This is a pretty good reference guide. Pretty accurate from what I have personally seen.
Gotta remember, this is what the car would be capable of if u made a perfect run, based on math. Most drivers, that hit the track a bunch, will need to add .2-.4 to these numbers fyi.

BoW is right..It's not as easy as u think even with an auto bro! The more power u have the harder it gets to hook up! I ran better times with just CAI & tune than with CAI, tune, full exhaust & wider tires!

I hear ya on that. Good thing I hook great and don't make huge torque so hooking is easy. Lol

I had the same mods as u in my 3.7 bro minus the 1pc driveshaft (which won't impact hooking up) & I couldn't hook at the track at all! Trust me it different at the track! U should go run it & prove us wrong tho!

IMO it would be a drivers race! Who ever gets a better launch wins! If he's 100% stock u have an advantage!

I ran my stock Mustang against a stock Charger last year. He ran a 14.40 . The Charger is about 600 lbs. heavier and has maybe 45-50 HP more. If it matters, he lost!

Shouldn't be so quick to bash the new v6s...I've ran a 12.9 in mine with basic bolt ons and suspension. And its a manual.
