Hello I have a 99 v6 auto mustang
Mods are
93 bama race tune
True dual exhaust with high flow cats and mufflers and x-pipe
Stock headers though.
Sr cold air intake

Ngk iridium plugs and msd wires if that even matters

Vs

He beat me pretty good... Numbers say I should have won.
Stock I'm hp190 but after my mods I would say atleast 215. He is 200 and 220 torque
I'm like 240. WTF? I also noticed my gas pedal felt really stiff and it seeme to take WAY longer then usual to get into 4th

Don't forget if you have an auto you're looking at about 15% drivetrain loss, so rwhp won't be as simple as stock HP + bolt-on HP. Good set of mods though.

Around the same weight
Less numbers then me
Both auto
He is front wheel drive

I can only think he lied and had something under the hood or
My cars tranny is ****.
Because it like took forever for it to shift up.
Plus the gas pedal feels really really stiff an then if I slam it down the stiffness goes away for a few hours and comes back

What numbers is he less than you? If he has 240 ftlb of torque, he has you there. Carol Shelby once said that HP sells cars, but torque wins races. It's not the end all be all statement of our generation, but there is some truth to it. It could be a lot of things. Takes a big person to admit they lost a drag race to a Chevy Malibu. I thank you for that

No I'm like 230-240 torque I think and 215 hp
He claims he was stock
That means he would be 200 hp
220 torque

It makes no sence how I lost

I don't think a rematch is any good I raced him 3 times and lost. It makes no sence at all. I'm so depressed too because I put so much money and hard work into my car and lost to a freaking 2004 malibu

Your car should have won .. barely ... but it should have won.

I would suspect your car is not mechanically sound.

*Edit*

The GM automatics are way more efficient at putting down power than anything Ford has had up until recently.

Gas pedal mod? Are ya pulling my leg lol? Btw I rematches him tomorrow I believe the car isn't mechanically sound. I replaced the throttle body linkage and cleaned the throttle body and saw that it was extremely gunked up. Did a royal purple oil change with kn filter. I know this sounds crazy for such little things done. But my gas pedal is not stiff at ALL now and it feels worlds faster. I can't believe a oil change and some good cleaning made such a difference. Rematch tomorrow I'll let ya know what happens this time

The gas petal mod brings the gas petal closer to your foot. One person ran into several glass windows in front of a building and had pics. We have not talked about the gas petal mod since. I think, he was getting coffee. It was a 1 in a million bad luck accident.

The gas pedal mod is legit. It takes out the slack in the gas pedal and gives you incredible throttle response.

Idk about any accidents with it or whatever but it's awesome. I removed my mod once and my car felt like ***. I'm always gonna keep that mod there

3.8L V6 vs 04 Malibu. The soccer mom in her 2011 Oddessy on her phone who is not racing and happens to be next to both cars at the stoplight wins.

By numbers you should win , but you got out driven. Learn to drive your car you will beat him. Maybe it's time for tune up?

I'd just be pissed if I dropped a bunch of money trying to make a 3.8L fast.

^ I think that Scotty may actually be Mustangman fellas, we're going to have to keep an eye on him.

We'll be keeping an eye on you Scotty...

So what happened with the re-match?
You should have cleaned your Mass Airflow Sensor while you were at it OP.

Here is an idea, stop putting money into the v6 and buy a gt. Now you don't have to worry about the Malibu. =)
