g8 vs 5.0

My buddy got his car tuned today and he says I will need more done to my car if I want to beat him. He has a 2009 g8 gt with 436rwhp. (Intake, cam, long tubes and few basic things). My car has 407rwhp with tune, cai, off-road x-pipe and lca's. I am sure I will beat him because of the 400 pound difference in weight but I wanted to get your guys opinions. Mine is a 2014 gt/cs with 3.73's. I think the g8's have like 2.91 or something like that

Are you auto or stick? That is going to make a big difference.

Another person stuck in the 90s when the autos were a liability vs now.

Auto will be superior to a stick in a 1/4 car. If this G8 is setup properly and has a decent tune it's going to win. If the guy has a nice stall converter in it probably won't even be that close.

Would have to see the full mod list on both cars though and even then its all on paper till ppl actually race which is why "will I beat X person" threads are always kind of useless... Get out there and find out.
