Rest/downtime at the track?

I was at an open track yesterday. Not a very good track regarding traction either. regardless it was an 1/8 mile track. There wasnt a ton of leople so I had the opportunity to make allot of runs. It is only my second time at the track so I was curious is there is a rule of thumb about number of runs or downtime between runs? Performance wise I only have exhaust, CAI and Tune but I was curious as you move further from stock, or even for stock, if there is a good amount of rest to plan on between runs?

I was figuring that but wanted to make sure. Planning on going FI in the future and that may or may not change it. There were so many guys there for hours making like 2 or 3 passes I was trying to figure why? Some Turbo ricers and then a bunch of drag cars. I know the dragsters were tuning allot
